Icemaker not making ice. (**Fix - replaced ice maker**)

I have a Frigidaire side-by-side with a lower freezer. The upper icemaker is working fine. The lower icemaker is making no ice. Short of replacing the icemaker, what should I check to diagnose the problem?
Fix: Went ahead an replaced ice maker and it is working.

Older models had problems with the solenoid that sends water to the ice maker.

Does it have a water filter? Mine will stop making ice when the water filter is going band (and is subsequently restricting water flow).

A couple times all I needed to do was pull out the icemaker and give it a good cleaning with warm/hot water, especially where the water is collected to make the ice.
I did that twice and it worked fine afterwards. Maybe I was just lucky.

I have a similar fridge as yours and had the same problem recently. I couldn’t figure it out to save my life then read to unplug it and let it reset itself. I was skeptical but tried it after everything else failed. Turned out it worked. Unplug it for 20 minutes.

You can probably replace it for less than you think. Probably get it on Amazon too

I have had this problem before. There is a slider on the lower ice maker that will stop it from making ice. Check and make sure it is in the correct position. Mine had gotten moved from an item in the freezer bumping it when I opened/closed the drawer.

That's why when I bought my current fridge I told the store to take the ice maker out. Making the ice by hand takes about 20 seconds each day.

Unplug it, let it sit for 20 mins. If the lines froze, it’ll give it time to thaw out.
