Hustler Zero Turn

Looking for some advice from all the lawn baws out there. Trying to decide between a hustler 42" dash xd for $2849 or a hustler 42" raptor x for $3249. Have just shy of 1 acre to cut--flat, without many obstacles. Not really looking to spend much more than ~$3200. From what I can read, the main difference between the dash and raptor is little bit beefier transmission and build. Does that really justify paying more, considering what I have to cut? Anyone have any input on these mowers?

Looks like their advertising on sports talk radio is working? I bought a 46" Cub Cadet in 2017 for my acre and have loved it while spending half what those cost.

My opinion, you don’t need that much mower to cut an acre.

I think both are fairly good machines. The Dash XD is a significant upgrade over the Dash X. The Raptor X only adds a few things and is not as big of a step. The Raptor X is a better machine, but I’m not sure it’s any significantly better. There’s a few little things that may not be obvious, like the frame, seat, access to under deck, etc.
Unless there’s some unique feature that’s important to you (after looking them over at a dealer), I don’t see any problems going with the Dash XD between those two.

I've got a Raptor 42" for the same size yard and its about perfect.
One thing I wish it had, though, is a commercial style seat. The stock seat is not very comfortable.

I've got about 1/2 an acre and went with the Dash XD. I bought is last weekend and had it delivered on Monday after I left to go offshore. So I just got to watch the delivery guy put it in the garage from the security camera and haven't been able to use it. For the little but that I'm cutting I didn't think the extra money for the Raptor was worth it for me. I think the warranty is longer on the Raptor as well. I was debating on whether or not to go with the 36" or 42" and ultimately decided to go with the 42" because of the larger tires.
I initially wanted to get a lawn tractor but the cost wasn't much more to get the Hustler. I know with all the research that I did I never came across any 46" Cub Cadets for $1400 after tax.

Bought 42” Hustler Raptor from Gautreauxs in BR. Have had it for 3 years and cut half acre. Great machine and good service.

Take a look a big dog. Same manufacturing company, much lower in price.

Going to piggy back a bit on this thread...
I just moved from a small yard in BR to 4.5 acres of wooded land in Covington that I just cut with a push lawn mower. F that noise. So I’m in desperate need for a zero turn and am quite naive to that market so any general advice is appreciated! The pops has a hustler and seems to be happy with it.

I have a Gravely and love it. It was between the Gravely and a Hustler. It really boiled down to the service I got while shopping. Hustler sales guy kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Gravely guy entertained my kids while answering my questions in a genuine non-salesy way. Both seem to come highly recommended.

Seems like a lot of mower for an acre. Guys around here use the Hustler’s to cut over 2 acre yards and they knock it out in less than 30 minutes.
I’d think you should consider less mower
