if you are dealing with any reputable company, none.

I didn’t pay anything until a few weeks after they completed everything and a guy came but for a final test and gave me an invoice.

The Generac dealer here is requiring 50% deposits and warning it may take up to 9 months to get a generator delivered.

Just had one installed by Mayeux's AC & Heating. No deposit and no invoice until the job was completely finished. They even waited until after Atmos changed out the regulator (needed more volume).

BTW, generator is a 20kW Kohler they had in stock. No ordering and waiting forever.

Reached out to them twice for an estimate over the last few months with no call back. How was install/service? I’m pretty set on Kohler and there aren’t many local options.

We had no trouble getting in touch with them. They handled everything from start to finish and were true to their word on when they would show up and the timeline for the install. The city actually kept the job from being finished sooner due to permits and inspections and being shorthanded.

The first company I called said 9 months also. This was a year ago. Another company was 6 weeks. It depends on what they have in stock or ordered I guess. The 59% deposit guys are probably getting a lot of people backing out because it’s taking too long.

Most of the time, the down payment is the cost of the generator.

The company here is in subchapter 5 bankruptcy and telling people it is a 42 week wait to get the generator delivered and installed. Still advertising, still going. Owes Generac $45k.

It boggles my mind that a company would do this. I'd never in a million years give my money to a person/company that won't call me back. It's as if they think they are the only game in town.

No deposit for the guy who sold me a Honeywell 20kW - Pabst Cooling Solutions in Abita Springs. I think he may require full price to reserve it but he has some of the fastest lead times I've seen.

Just installed one. Like others said, didn’t pay a dime until it was all done. For Generac, Optimize normally has them in stock. Would recommend.

I worked with Lowes to install a 24kw generac. They beat all competing price and delivery time estimates. Very satisfied with install. This was a Bay St Louis Lowes and install.
