I've looked at six but they were just not what I'm looking for.

I'm wondering if I'm too picky.

Drove by 30+ just me and the wife (along with Zillow inspection). Actual walk through and get the disclosures on with the realtor? 7.

That said, although some were ok, didnt "feel it" until we were in the one I purchased. One after that was great too, but the location was not as good.

Two houses ago, we looked at over 30. This last house, probably 15.

Looked at 10, then narrowed it down to 3 I really liked, then I made an offer on the house I live in

1st house probably 20-30. We were moving to a city we had never spent any time in, so looked at a lot of different areas.

2nd house - maybe 10 or so. We had been here for a year so had a general idea where we wanted to be

12-15. Outbid on many, by west coast infiltration.

We bought our first house back in September, we looked at 20-30 different houses, put offers on 4(lowballed the first, got beat on the second, went under contract on the 3rd but backed out due to some structural issues, purchased the 4th).

Be picky, it'll likely be one of the biggest purchases of your life to date, and if your realtor is getting pushy, dump them and find another.

More than I can count before we finally realized we'd have to build to get exactly what we wanted.

I like to think 10 to 20, but probably more like 30 to 40. Worked with a realtor, but found the house on my own online.

Just 3...

Back in 2010, we went look at 3. I knew which house I wanted immediately from pictures online. I confirmed that decision instantly when I saw House 1 in person and saw all the untapped potential in it. It had everything I wanted on the inside, aside from a great master bed and bathroom (which we eventually added on and built).

We went look at 2 more houses because I felt we needed to, but I was sold on this house from the very start.

1 on my 1st and 2 on my second. Not sure how many I'm about to look at on my 3rd since it will be out of state this round.

For my first house I ever purchased I'd guess about 30. I was the king of the lowball offer. To my agent's relief I finally found the right house and sales price with a family that had moved to Boise and was paying two mortgages. I got the house for 91% of the list price.

Wife (no pics) and I purchased our current home home in Aug 2020. I physically looked at maybe 10-12. Wife on the other hand, probably looked at 35-40. She looked first and if she thought I would be interested I would go look. Realtor is a relative so I could care less if her time was wasted.

First time, not enough. Second time, where we currently live, too many. We were young and dumb and living in an apartment and we’re just starting to look around for a house. Found a new construction townhouse on a small cul-de-sac that we liked and decided to buy it. Bad decision but we were able to sell it a few years later. This was back in 2007 and we had to be out in 30 days so the hunt was on. Probably looked at a dozen one day. None were exactly what we wanted. Looked at several more a couple days later. The very first house we had a showing scheduled for the third day was the house we’re in now. I walked in and loved it. Told the wife and realtor we should I cancel the other viewings. They insisted on looking at the 8-10 more. We did that, came back to this house in the afternoon and put an offer in then. It was the first day it was on the market and had several other showings. We happened to be the first to offer on it and they accepted. Realtor told us there were a half dozen other and since we offered asking price they accepted ours. I could have slapped them for making me look at all the others and possibly missing out if someone else offered before us.

I’d say 10-15?

An initial round of a couple different styles and price points. Maybe 5-6 with a pretty good range of variety. A few older, a few newer. Good variance in lot size vs house sq ft, etc...

then developed a relatively tight list based on the agreed best style/price from that group. It didn’t nail it but gave us a good idea to aim. After 4-5 of those realized we wanted to stretch just slightly higher on price to check a couple more boxes

did another 2 visits and had a really tough time choosing as we really had gotten a good feel for an agreed target after round 2 and both were very viable on round 3

First 3 houses we probably looked at 10-15 each time.

Bought current house in 2016. We knew about it before it hit the market. Did one last walk thru the day before they were to list it. Made an offer before we left. They accepted, game over.

Not sure that will ever happen again, but it damn sure made the process easy.
