Ballistol seems to last for a good while.

WD-40 is in no way, shape, or form a water based lubricant. WD stands for Water Displacing and if you look in the SDS for it: "Solubilities: Insoluble in water".
I stand corrected. Either way, it's not the best option for doors seeing that it's going to collect dust/dirt/grime/stuff that might be making your door squeak in the first place.

I love the white lithium grease but cover what you don’t want it on because it can stain

You probably have something mechanically wrong with the hinge or the door isn't hung properly. I had one do that and after some googling I found out I had a bent hinge "ear". Once I re-aligned it all, no more squeaks.

Don't use a spray. It will wind up on the door.
I use this and keep a paper towel in hand to wipe up any drips.

you need to new hinges or new washer near the top. once that plastic washer/bushing wears out, you'll have to keep lubricating often or replace it.

That must be a very cheap or improper hinge in that case because I hang a lot of doors and none of the hinges have plastic bushings or washers unless a hinge mounted door stop is involved. Even the crappiest residential-grade hinges are all metal.
One more thing the OP needs to check is the door margins when closed, if the door is rubbing the frame then it will cause binding on the hinges when closed. This causes fretting corrosion (will look like black dust on the hinge joint) and no lubrication will fix that for long as the friction removes any oil or grease with the metal that is being rubbed away.
