I think the fertilizer pellets got caught up in the wheels of my fertilizer. I guess it laid down too much in certain areas and the areas that are much more green are growing like crazy.

Any fix for this like putting down more fertilizer in the areas that aren’t as green? Any idea how long it will take to go back to normal?

Ah the old Scott’s spreader curse.

It’ll even out over time. You don’t want to over-fertilize everything, so don’t add much more unless your lawn needs it.

You could get an iron supplement, such as a liquid spray, and it should help even out the green stripes.

That’s the field lines from your septic.

Just kidding.

Very interesting. I'm experiencing the exact same thing right now on centipede. Centipede is supposed to be a more lime color so I believe the lighter areas are good.
I'm on my 3rd Scott's EdgeGuard rotary spreader in 2 years. First 2 were bunk due to calibration - bought off store floor. Internet ordered this one so nobody had the chance to play with it.
Anyone thinking about buying a new spreader? Allow me to be your learning curve and get yourself a better, pricier spreader. You'll be money ahead in the long run.

So here's why this stupid spreader makes these stupid lines.

Scott's is to spreaders what LG is to refrigerators

What’s your grass type? What %n did you use? How many lbs per thousand. Bermuda you can fix immediately. St Aug, centipede, and zoysia it depends.

Yeah all the new Scott’s spreaders are shite. The spinner is below the wheels. Hits the wheels and drops straight down. I needed a spreader in a pinch and grabbed one last fall. Got me good.

ronk, I have centipede and used Anderson's 16-0-8. Unfortunately and admittedly, I put a wee bit more down in some lanes. I am watering it right now since it will be dry this coming week.
I wish I had an Anderson's spreader but a bit too pricey for me. What do you recommend? Earthway?

I just bought an earthway. For a while they were 6-8 weeks for a good spreader. That’s why I bought that Scott’s. They have some earthway on Amazon.

Anderson spreader is the GOAT. I have a 50lb Anderson and an 80lb lesco. 16-0-8 is spot on for centipede. You’ll have to wait 4 weeks and fert in the opposite direction of the stripes.

I just can't bring myself to spend >$300 on a spreader for my small yard.

I just ordered an echorb60(was split between that or an earthway2600a). They both have their flaws. Well see, I'm sure 2 years from now I would have wanted to just order a lesco and be done with it.

Any extra watering in the meanwhile?
Thank you, once again, sir

Anyone using one of these? LINK Thinking about pulling the trigger on it.

Go in the same line that is already green but opposite direction? Why would that help? Not trying to call you out, I just don’t get it.

I would have thought I would need to go between the overly green lines

LOL. He means you need to go perpendicular to the way you went last time, not parallel.

Ok that makes sense, but that’s not opposite. I think I may just fill in some of the gaps by hand. I’m ready to throw that piece of shite spreader in the trash
