For years I bought just the number of screws I needed from the very large selection that Chenevert Hdwr on Perkins past Seigen. That store has closed. The packets of screws at Lowes force me to buy more than I need. Lowes is often poorly stocked, the displays are a disorganized jumble and many packets have been torn open.

What hardware store still has a good selection sold by the piece? All I need this time is four brass, 1 1/4", 6-32, flat head, Philips.

Agreed, when I need fasteners, I check any Ace Hardware location.

Tractor supply has a great selection, and they sell by the pound so it is much easier than keeping up with numbers, but I don’t recall seeing brass screws in bulk there
