Fall Pre-Emergent - Generic Barricade Cheap

I just did some googling to see if there were any deals on pre-emergent. I tend to use Specticle Flo and still have enough for at least 1 more application, but in the fall I've used Priodiamine with good winter success.
Anyway, I didn't realize (probably just foolishly on my part) that you can buy just the active ingredient in great quantity for so cheap.
Prodiamine 65 WDG (Generic Barricade) $80 for 5 lbs
It appears based on the FAQs that you can cover 2-10 acres with this one bottle depending on application rate.

I’ve used that one for a while now. The biggest issue I run into with my fall application is watering it in. I’d ideally need some rain but it’s usually sparse when soil temps reach the fall application window.

Are you guy's putting down your fall applications now? I'm waiting a little more on the temp to drop. I put down Dimension last fall and it worked well. I reapplied it in the spring and have zero crabgrass. My neighbor has a lot and it literally stops once it hits by property line. Going my prodiamine packets this year. When are yall applying?

I tend to use my hose-end sprayer for my Specticle applications. It's not the fastest thing, but I pre-measure the amount and add water to the jar. Then I set it on a low setting allowing me to do multiple 90 and 45 degree applications and hopefully getting it slightly watered into the soil that way. Then I'll put out the sprinklers if I can't manage to catch some rare fall rain.
I suppose the same issue arises with the granular applications as well. I sure wish we had more rain in the forecast already.

I'm starting to think about it, and was shopping for deals when I came across this jar. I've had more bad luck missing unexpected temp drops than putting it down too early. This year feels like we won't ever get fall...

Not yet. Average soil temp for me is 82. I’ll wait till it gets closer to 70. Or if we have some rain coming through soon I may just have to take advantage of it.

Yeah, I start to keep an eye on it now. I did find that bottle on Amazon with next day delivery. So I'll at least have it in my back pocket for the right conditions. October also seems to get busy and blast past me for some reason, so anything I can do now to be ready helps.

Already did my first split-app of Specticle Flo.

Prodiamine should help. I had that too starting out, rarely see it anymore.

Last year was my first ever to use a pre-emergent. I also just started addressing what may be nitrogen issues.

I missed my window last year, but my plan in the Jefferson Parish area would be to put it down the same day I take down my Halloween decorations.

It's hard for me to say, because I try to stay on top of it. I live pretty close to a cow pasture and the neighbors' between me and it tend to be pretty wild and wooly. I will forever be fighting the spread

I have the same problem, neighbors don’t care and my fence line gets weeds. Their lawn guys weed eat under the fence down to the dirt. So all grass is killed and creates the perfect environment for weeds. I hit the fence line heavy with pre-emergent but not sure how effective it is.
Not a big deal, my lawn chokes out most of the weed evasion and the weeds are chopped every week by the weed eater.

Even for Jefferson Parish, that would be a little late for cool season weed seeds that germinate at soil temp of 70F, like Poa annua.

Although I'm relatively new to the game, I will say that I am more than satisfied with the Herbicide schedule that I will this season. It started with dimension around Halloween last year and then I put down the rest of the bag at the beginning of summer. My yard was infested with crabgrass and dallisgrass last year and not a hint of it this year. VBW has dropped substantially as well. I just have one spot of Green Kyllinga, one spot of Carpet Grass, and one spot of spurge. All is coming from the neighbor's yard.
Do any of yall know how to kill bermuda mixed with ST Aug, or should I just let it be?

Pre-emergents are generally not effective on VBW, your owerall lawn health and frequent mowings are probably what’s keeping it at bay.
Fusilade II mixed with Recognition might work on getting rid of Bermuda in St Aug, but not sure I’d risk damaging the St Aug. A higher HOC would benefit St Aug and help suppress the Bermuda.
Do your research before attempting. Here’s something from the LCN who has St Aug: LINK

I've used it with great success. It did absolutely no damage to my St. Aug. There have been quite a few threads on this board about it. Here's one.
It is pricey. But it absolutely works. Would definitely recommend.

I've been cutting at 4" since May and the bermuda has adapted and in some areas, out competing the St Aug. It does not look bad and I think im just going to embrace it. Worked too hard on it to ding it with another Herbicide.
