W/ 5amp hr battery and charger.
@ Lowes
Have both the 16 and 18" versions, the torque on these is amazing.

I have got the 16” last year and like it a lot. You aren’t going to start a pulpwood operation with it or anything, but for cutting limbs in the yard, it is great
. That’s a hell of a price…the 5Ah battery alone sells for about $450. I have half a mind to buy an 18” just so I can get another 5Ah battery!

Should make this a thread for Labor Day tool deals.

I have no chainsaw experience. How experienced does one have to be for this one? If I get this will I end up slicing my face or losing a hand? The gas chainsaws I’ve seen people use make me a little nervous.

Its as dangerous as a gas saw. It's just a bit simpler and cleaner to run. I'm considering using mine to cut down a ****** palm tree in my back yard. It did fine on the last one, and a big palm is unusually tough cutting for what seems like soft wood.
Up to now, I've been risking life and limb by pruning the palm with my Ego pole saw on an extension ladder.

It is exactly as dangerous as a gasoline saw….it just doesn’t make any noise when running!

On the good side, your neighbors will hear your cry for help.
My 18” came with 5ah and the 16” with a 2.5 ah battery.

I’m just wondering if I should even get it. I have a neighbor that can show me how to safely use it.

I have the Ego weed trimmer, blower and hedge trimmer. Absolutely love the Ego system. May need to add this chain saw to the mix at that price.

I've got the 60v line of Greenworks tools (mower, trimmer, blower). I bought their 18" chainsaw during 4th of July sale. It was a very pleasant surprise how good it is.

Ive owned that ego saw for years now and have used and abused it and it still does work like new. For trees up to 24” dia it does just fine.
Never ever going back to a gas saw
and no it’s not any safer than a gas saw in fact it might be a little less safe because it’s so simple to use. Chainsaw accidents are a function of complacency and poor technique. Fortunately there are innumerable resources available now to learn how to use one safely

This, I'd say it's just as dangerous as a gas saw. But if you have never really uses a CS, watch some basics videos on youtube and for the love of Pete, don't do that stupid hinge cut every moron has to do on facebook.
