I'm looking to purchase an Echo SRM 225 and noticed a $29 difference between Home Depot and a local store, Congress Outdoors. They seem exactly the same. Am I missing something?

Both are the same model number. Maybe made in different years?
Or maybe HD is lower because they are no longer planning to sell these.

The MSRP is $199.99.

Home Depot needs to make up for all the unplanned donations.

I think my local echo dealer told me they can sell for cheaper then the big box stores, I think echo does that to help the little guys out.

Always go to your local store. Same price and better service.

Are they really not selling them anymore?

Yes they’re still selling them. He didn’t bother opening the links and seeing that Home Depot was higher. He assumed, like so many, they would be cheaper.

HD isn’t always the cheapest. They also bumping up the pricing of their homeowner gas engine stuff to make the battery stuff look better.

I buy all my lawn equipment from there but forget about service unless you're a big commercial outfit. They've been having my cub cadet SC900 since May 9th..

I’ve got an Echo trimmer and I fricking hate it. Carburetor keeps getting gummed up. I use proper gas mixes and never let it sit long periods without use and or burning out the gas. Contemplating going electric honestly

I had a similar story last year with them. I finally went and picked it up, bought the parts and fixed myself

Are you using Ethanol? I've left mine outside hanging on the fence for weeks at a time even in the rain and never do maintenance. Use trufuel or something similar.

Maybe one store is just more expensive. I have that trimmer and highly recommend it.

I've always burned ethanol free- super unleaded in all of my 2-cycle engines. I don't use much so costs isn't an issue. I can set down my chainsaw/weedeater/blower for a long time and when I come back to it it's always still running. Nothing like having to pull a chainsaw rope every time you set it down when you're already tired AF..

I was using regular unleaded with the echo gold 2 cycle mix.

Guess I’ll have to take the fricker apart, clean it, and start using ethanol free super or something

My Echo weed eater (SRM-210) is 14 years old.. I am waiting for delivery for my second carburetor. I put a new one on about 7years ago. I tried to rebuild the original but that didn't work. So I guess a new carb every 7 years ain't so bad.. But the head wants to spin when it is idling and when physically stop the head from spinning the engine dies. So not sure if it's the clutch because it still spins when I give it gas (Any Ideas?) And every once in awhile it will shock my arm..
