What’s a good estimate for installing gutters? I’ve heard people say $10/ft. The estimate I just got was almost $20/ft which seems kind of high to me

Call TIMCO gutters out of walker if you are around the Baton Rouge area. I had multiple estimates his was on the lower side and I think he does the best work. I can’t remember exactly how much I paid but it wasn’t near $20

We're $10 a foot for 6" seamless, more if it's two story. Which is on the cheaper end. Between $3-8 a foot on different styles of gutter guards.

$20 a foot is definitely on the high end but plenty of companies charge that. There's not a ton of money to be made in gutters and the national gutter company LeafFilter is charging just crazy amounts ($35+ a ft) and people are paying it so it's causing local gutter companies to raise their prices.

Most insurance companies are only paying $11-13 ft so you're just doing them just so it helps you get the other work.

My company. The Shreveport/Bossier area.

Would list my company name but really don't want a random poster that hasn't forgotten about me calling him an a-hole 5 years ago to go ruin my Google 5 star reviews

If you're up this way and want a quote I could post my email.

Which is exactly why my house has no gutters…

Another reason is that I don’t have any desire to be cleaning gutters out during football season when all of the leaves fall.

there’s an upside to a gutter full of leaves. They are usually wet and starting to rot which makes them ideal cover for landscape beds and gardens. I usually dump them in a garbage can or wheelbarrow from the ladder then straight to the garden. Or, you can leave them in the can and fill it with water to make leaf tea

Much less work than raking

Yes leaf filter is expensive, but I haven’t had any issues been about 5 years. They do what they say they will do. I would recommend.

I used Acme Gutter at three dollars and fifty cents per foot but it turned out to be a ripoff as they only work when it rains.

Straight forward single story is about $11 a ft and second story is about $16-18 a ft.

They work, I wasn't disagreeing with that. I was just meaning I could do all new gutters and virtually the same gutter guards as Leaf Filter cheaper than the price they charge just for their gutter guards.

I don't know but apparently people are. I figure it's mainly older folks who just see their ads on TV. I think one house we went to doing some other work on and they had Leaf Filter and said they were $30 a foot. And that was years ago. At the time I could have done 6" seamless gutters and virtually the same gutter guard system for around $15 a foot. Just crazy how high they are.
