I am looking - without much success - for someone who sharpens circular saw blades as well as hand saws, in the Baton Rouge area.

How much are you spending on a circular saw blade?

There was a thread on this a short while back.

There’s a place just south of St Amant High School that apparently sharpens blades. Pass the sign everyday.

for a 71/4 blade? Yikes you are paying almost triple what a decent blade cost

I've got a PCD-tipped 10" miter saw blade that was well over $100. Forrest, CMT, Tenryu? They can get to $200. I've got a small stack of saw blades that need sharpening, probably get the sharpener from HF one of these days.

You can send it off to ridge carbide for sharpening. They make excellent blades as well.

I sent blades out in the pass and they never lasted that long at sharpening.

Now on my sawmill, I sharpen those myself.

You wait 12 years to make one post about sharpening saw blades?

I use a 40T ridge carbide on my table saw. I'll send that one off for sharpening. For a 7 1/4" circular saw blade, I used the diablos at homedepot ($10) and throw them away when their dull.

talking about your table saw blade?

I have a combination blade in my table saw. It was probably $200 15 years ago.

I agree. I highly suggest ridge carbide for sharpening and for their blades.

I was coming here to say this. That’s the only blade sharpening service I know of.
