We have these bulbs that are in our ceiling that’s about 20+ feet above ground. Most ladders can’t reach it and I have a fear of heights so wondering if there are alternative ways. It’s a regular bulb enclosed in a oval glass

You can get a long pole light changer from Home Depot, etc... BAYCO makes one.

ETA: in an oval globe? Then the gadget below won't help.

If the setup allows, I'd hire someone to put up scaffolding and change to a fixture that will accept a light bulb changer on an extension pole.

Or maybe switch that fixture to a chandelier on a crazy long chain that you can reach from a stepladder.

Just to be clear. The bulb in covered/enclosed in globe? If so, good luck. If not encased (maybe recessed lighting?) then bulb grabber on an extension pole works well. I have recessed lights in a 16' ceiling and have to use one to replace bulbs.

Are they supposed to be changed from inside the attic?

Yeah I’ll take photos when home but I thought about the extenders and it’s just not easily doable because of the dome aspect

Check with united rentals or other rental companies for 20-30 ft step ladder. Pay a teenager to climb ladder and change bulbs. Go ahead and replace them all though with leds.

OK, be truthful, did you let the wife pick out the lighting????

Because they don't think about future problems, just how things look.

My wife’s boss had a cathedral ceiling 35 feet. He bought the pole and I changed the bulbs. He usually took us to dinner afterwards.

Easy to use.

I’m seriously thinking about buying some scaffolding.

Will help with light bulbs, repairing settling cracks in crown molding and sheetrock, clearing spider webs, decisions to change paint color, and any other unforeseen issues that may come up.

Might also rent it on Nextdoor or Facebook Marketplace, but not sure I would trust anybody but friends and neighbors not to frick up my shite.
