Do these help loosen and release the dirt and grime from your vehicle? I have Wrangler Unlimited and F150
They look kinda fun to use as well lol...
Something like this:
AutoGeek Foam Cannon
Appreciate any thoughts/recommendations?

Yep. They work great. You need a good pressure washer running the foam cannon though. I have a Kranzle with an MTM foam gun.

I have one for my 5th wheel and it makes that job very easy. I use a Greenworks electric pressure washer with it. I don't need too much pressure. I fill my cannon with a degreaser and a soap I bought from Chemical Guys. Bought the cannon from there as well.

do you use a regular car wash or do they use a specific car wash for them?

I use a foam cannon on my boat. Use standard boat soap. Star Brite. Dilute a bit with warm water in the dispenser.
Cuts wash time in half.

Most detail places sell soap specifically for foam canons. Try detailersdomain.com.
However any soap should work ok.

I bought their Citrus Wash and Gloss and I mix in a degreaser.

Absolutely. I have my tundra ceramic coated and with the foam cannon makes hand washing much easier. Spray it with water wide nozzle to wet it and knock off mud. Then a quality foam soap will stick to the vehicle and basically allow you to hand wash at least half at a time before restarting pressure washer and without having to use buckets, etc.
I’ve also used the foam cannon for cleaning the house, patio furniture, etc. cheap and effective.

Is it worth it compared to the simplicity of pouring car wash into a bucket and spreading by hand?

If you are looking at foam cannons at that price range get the MTM Hydro. I have the MTM pro, I have had it for years. Some companies have knocked off the MTM pro and have some pretty good reviews but you would have to dig around to find the good cheap ones. Some have some $15-$20 cannons highly rated.
I'd love a Kranzle that was mentioned earlier but I have a Karcher 1700, all MTM hoses, gun and wand that I can switch over when I pluck down the cash for a kranzle one day. The biggest hold back for me is I need to run electrical somewhere to support it, my old house just doesn't have a good outlet for it.

The wow factor wears off. I went back to just bucket and multiple mitts. Dip the mitt in the bucket, clean section, discard mitt, grab fresh mitt, clean another section, etc.

Thanks for the replies all.
I have an older Troy-built Pressure washer, 2550 max psi and 2.3 max GPM.
My intent would be to foam the vehicle and most likely follow with a handwash at least 1/2 the time.

Have a cheap one that came with my pressure washer. Never used it on a vehicle, but have been pleasantly surprised with the results washing the hardyboard portions of my house. Plan to get a nicer one just for that purpose since this one is small and doesn't hold enough soap

I just started using a foam cannon a few months back when I bought a black truck. Using foam and a pressure washer as a prewash makes the rest of the wash a breeze. I am very picky about preventing swirl marks so the foam and two bucket wash method has done great. Btw - I bought a cheap $26 armor all cannon from Orielly’s and it is sufficient. You can watch the dirt fall down.

I like mine. I have the one just for the hose, not the pressure washer. I think it helps get some of that loose dirt off as well as soften some of the caked on mud and bugs.
Side note, I have a Golden doodle with super curly hair and is a pain in the arse to wash. Decided to throw some dog shampoo in that thing, and it's a game changer for washing your dog.
