Got a nice size patch of dollar weed spreading and also see some clover with white flowers. Common Bermuda grass and in Baton Rouge area. Didn’t know if ok now or wait til spring. Thanks

I don’t see why not. It’s still pretty warm.

How many pebbles do you typically put in per gallon of water? That stuff is strong as hell and I’m always worried about over doing it.
Thanks

Give it 21 days for results. With slightly cooler temps the MSM will not work quite as fast.

Generally speaking, do you guys recommend using something like this right now, or in the spring? I used something called Change Up to get rid of lespedeza a month or two ago...it worked on the weeds, and took some grass with it. May have overdid it but I am more wondering if it is better to do it with things are growing more actively and has an entire season to recover.

Another way of asking is how do you not just wind up with an area that will be easy for weeds to infiltrate again because everything is dead?

Change up is a good cool season herbicide. Similar to Gordon's Trimec. It is known for the quick down of weeds. I mixed some with msm in the early summer and it yellowed bermuda and stunted St Aug. I would lean more towards Change up now that it is getting cooler.

Hey gronk, you seem to be the lawn/weed expert. I need some advice on my lawn and weeds. Any chance I can get your email just to ask a few random questions? Understand if not, but would appreciate any help. I’m a novice in lawn care right now but looking ramp it up and hopefully have a decent yard.

If you google your question and add tigerdroppings there's a good chance it will pull up a thread talking about it.

Yep I found most of my answers this way. And the most informative in this thread typically contribute in all similar ones, lots of info out there

Post it here. The HG board isn't like other boards. Hell, even I'm different on this board than on the other ones. This board will help you regardless of the question.

I found a lot of good info just searching, so appreciate the tip there. Now I’m just trying to indentify the type of grass I have and if the maintenance schedule gronk laid out years ago in a post is appropriate. It appears a mix of different grasses? I honestly don’t know and help is appreciated.

I haven’t ever really taken my yard seriously and I think it shows.

Take a close up picture. It looks like a mix of Bermuda, crabgrass, and Dallisgrass

You have plenty of Bermuda to establish the lawn. Start clean up with nearly any broadleaf herbicide. Afterwards, you can identify and kill the more stubborn grassy weeds. It may be too late for Fall pre-emergent, but definitely plan to get it down for the Spring.

Some up close pics. I assume Bermuda treatment is different from the st Aug grass maintenance schedule laid on a previous post. St Aug schedule

The top close up pic looks like zoysia to me, based on the thatch and long pointy blades. As the pics go down it looks more weedy, maybe some carpet and st aug mixed in.

The initial pics you posted that were further out looked more like Bermuda to me, so not really sure. Assuming you have different grasses in front and back?
