Bosch 800 series dishwasher with CrystalDry - should I get this model?

Anyone have any issues with this model Bosch and more specifically, the CrystalDry feature? It's an interesting concept, but the internet seems conflicted. Seems it dries really well, but there has been some failures reported with components getting too hot or cracking and the fix being $700. Although, I also read Bosch fixed those issues on newer models.
Should I get the 500 with AutoDry to remove risk of some weird component breaking?

I forget which one I have but it might be the 800. It has been fantastic.

Below is based on the Consumer Reports evaluations and my evaluation of that data for bang for the buck.
Bosch in order of quality:
Benchmark Series
800 Series
300 series (most)
500 series
100 Series (only model outside of the recommended models)
Best bang for the buck:
300 series
800 series/Benchmark
500 series/100 series
I think you can pay $10 for a 1-month digital subscription to CR if you want to look at the data.

I bought the 800
Goddamn fricker was $1,500 at Costco. At least it includes installation and haul away of the old one and Costco has a warranty beyond factory.

Depending on the model, that was probably not a bad price (in terms of what those cost). Bosch is far and away the best dishwasher you can get.
In those Consumer Reports ratings, Bosch had the top 10 rated units and 12 of the top 15

I have this one. The crystal dry is overrated.. It does help but if you want the dishes dried keep the rinse container full of jet dry.

I got a 300 for my house six or seven years ago, it was great. Far better than the GM Monogram shite that crapped out. Funny you mentioned disposal, I have no clue how I got rid of the dead GM.

I've had mine for 5 years. No issues beside the one time a piece of something got all the way down at the bottom under the filter and kept it from running but I finally found it!
Crystal Dry won't work on plastic stuff like the stuff kids use but otherwise it seems to work well enough.
