I have a POS Home Depot GE that my builder out in my house 2 years ago. I don’t have time to order any more parts or hand wash dishes.

Anyone have a bullet proof recommendation?

Many on here will recommend Bosch, and it's a great choice.

I personally am a fan of Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwasher. I've had mine for 10 years, and the only issue I had is that I had to replace a control board late last year.

Is it true that appliance brands like GE use lower quality parts in their products sold in big box stores like Home Depot, as opposed to those sold by other higher end retailers?

I don't love my Samsung. It stinks often. My wife keeps telling me we need to clean out the filter. LIke WTF I've never seen anybody clean a dishwasher filter more than perhaps yearly.

Bosch. Never had F&P. Had Bosch in 3 new houses and 4 log cabins we own.

Switched to Bosch after the builder installed units died. KitchenAid, GE Profile and one I can't remember.

IMO when dealing with water, it will never be bulletproof. You will run into some type of issue, minor or large.

That being said, Bosch seems to be very popular, competitive in their pricing, and super quiet. We have a Samsung that I can't wait to get rid of when it finally decides to crap out because it seems like it doesn't clean as well as it should. A quiet Bosch from Costco or Best Buy would be the move if you need to upgrade, especially one with that third row cleaning drawer.

I read online that F&P is now owned by Haier out of China.....

I have been thinking about a Frigidaire Gallery. Someone please tell me why not to get one.

Also, the owner of a local appliance sales shop told me he wouldn't recommend Bosch solely due to difficulty getting parts if something breaks. From looking online, it appears most of the Bosch's now require an app to set the timer on it and it can't be done on the machine itself. If so, that sucks. I don't need my freaking dishwasher hooked to the internet.

My Bosch is incredible on cleaning, and is super quiet. Only downside...doesn't try dishes and so you have to let them sit a while to dry. Other than that, I would buy it again without hesitation.

We just got this KitchenAid one based off pretty consistent positive reviews. Have only had it a week but love it so far.

I have a Maytag with stainless steel tub, 10 year warranty. I’ve had it 3 years and it’s been good.

I have the nicest non-gallery Frigidaire dishwasher and it sucks at drying. Great job at cleaning though. I will say, the gallery adds a MaxBoost drying feature that is supposed to really help.

Look at the Db numbers, as with any, quiet is what you want. I can’t tell mines running, the water being pumped out, lets me know it’s running. The blue light on the floor, tells me it’s finished.

I've got the same or very similar. Washes great, drys good also. Like that review page says, the cycles do seem long.

They key to drying in any new dishwasher is Rinse-aid. The KitchenAid also has a heated dry option that many others are lacking.

with Bosch, select the sanitize setting. The very hot final rinse helps with the drying. Oh, and be sure to keep the Jet Dry reservoir full.

We’ve had this one for about 6 months. We love it! Super quiet and cleans and drys well. Would highly recommend it.
