Just took over as baseball coach of a high school. Previous coach didn’t take of the field like it needed to be. I have already sprayed MSMA to kill clover, Certanity to kill nutsedge. I am looking for a chemical that I can spray that will kill a variety of grasses that are growing in my infield DIRT, but will not kill my good Bermuda grass that is growing in the infield and outfield. Don’t want to spray roundup or eraser on infield dirt on the field because of the over spray. Any answers would be appreciated.

Just use glyphosate in a backpack sprayer when it's not windy

If you are concerned about over spray you could always spray the round up on your infield dirt, then water down the grass surrounding it to wash off any over spray.

Like said previously spot spray with roundup/glyphosate. Get the something that you mix yourself that has a higher percentage of gly. If you read the labels you can get 41% gly from Home Depot. If you go to a co-op you can get something like quick pro granular that is 71% gly. Mix with surfactant and you will get a better faster kill percentage.

If you have access to a spike drag run that over the infield and then come back and screen drag it. If you do this consistently it will cut down on issues. But it’s something you have to stay on top off.

The MSMA you are using to kill clover should/will kill numerous grass weeds growing in the infield and outfield without harming the Bermudagrass.

MSMA is the bees knees. Use it as a first option

Why can't you just use your current combo of MSMA and Certainty then if anything else is around spot spray with round up or have a HS kid pull? I think that's what I'd do.

Yep, every year we had a work day at the beginning of the season. The whole team took pride in keeping the field looking its best

Msma for clover is certainly overkill but use it on the grassy weeds. What grassy weeds are we dealing with?

Mollie we use a 50/50 mix of glyphosate and pramitol. The glyphosate kills the grass and weed, the pramitol treats the ground so that it doesn’t promote future growth. We do this method once a year and it’s golden.

They’re is also a product called Total Vegetation Control that is essentially the same. However, the time we used it, the weeds and grass appeared back earlier than when we use the glyphosate/pramitol method.

You should be dragging that field daily. Weeds wouldn’t be popping up.
