I cut out this small portion of pegboard in my basement so that the plumber could replace the valve. I'd like to hide it with a small door of some type. Any ideas would be appreciated...Hinge type, etc.

ETA a picture.

Internet search “spring loaded access panel”. Some come with doors that you can open, other just pop in and out very easily as needed. They come in differences size 6 x 6, 8 x 8, 12 x 12 (inches).etc and range from $10 to 20. Plastic. Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe’s, …….I have one in my utility room to cover a hole in dry wall that electricians needed to make to help them fish some new electrical wire in into the electrical panel.

quote:

”A spring-loaded access panel (or spring-fit cover) is an ideal, tool-free way to cover drywall holes. Designed for holes hiding plumbing, wiring, or HVAC cables, these covers feature flexible spring-clips on the back that snap into the drywall edge for a secure, flush fit. These covers are highly adjustable, meaning you don’t need an exact measurement to get a clean finish”

I like the idea. FYI, Thanks to you and grand. I added a pic to my original post. Guess I would need to make a cleaner square to make something like this work.

Might as well wait until you decide on which access panel and get the size before you square up the hole.

yes the access panel you choose will have an opening size for the flange. Choose the panel you want first then square it up to fit tight. You can just hold the panel up to the wall and trace the flange with a pencil

If you get a 3d printer you could mock up a door the shape of your hole.

Otherwise, yea, probably have to square tgat up at some point in the process
