I try to buy from local growers wherever possible. They are usually easy to find on FB market.

As someone mentioned earlier, F Bonnie.

so do I, but there’s nothing wrong with Bonnie plants besides the price. They are grown in Alabama

I’m not sure what the issue is. Their plants are strong healthy producers with solid genetics and are readily available. Also they are much easier to transplant than tiny cell packs. Instant garden if you have more money than time (which is most people)

Yep, I liken it to fishing lures. You can buy cheap ones, expensive ones, make your own. Doesn’t matter as long as you catch fish with them.

Bonnie Plants has been our only option. But this year my wife planted tomato and pepper seeds. She transplanted them a few days ago and they are doing great. She transplanted them in the Bonnie cups that she kept from last year's plants. Being it is still forecast to get into the low 30's she has them under grow lights in the garage and our bedroom.

Sowed some watermelon, cucumber, and sunflower seeds yesterday. Now we wait…

I think my garden is just about completely planted. I actually have one row unused. I’ll see if any ideas pop up. But it’s ok if not. I was wanting to just keep it simple this year.

Strawberries are starting to roll in!

I ordered some seeds from baker for the third bed:

Cucurbita pepo (lemon squash)
Cucurbita moschata (zucchino rampicante)
rio grande verde tomatillo
bee balm
Thai basil

once I get those planted along with a couple cantaloupe seeds I’m done. I have okra sprouting to plant but only two of those this time

I think I have a good mix of stuff we will actually eat.

Looking like 0% germination on pack #1 of Jimmy Nardello, so I ordered another larger pack and am trying 3 different methods this time

I second cgrand on the mammoth jalapenos.

I grew one plant last year, and I was giving away 4-5 inch long/1.5-2 inch wide peppers left and right. That plant was happy all summer and makes just the right size for poppers.

Trying some for the first time this year.

We are now either year 3 or 4 on a small bed of asparagus. The spears are coming in fast and we have to look every day. Three meal sides for two so far. They are so good and this is better than I expected from this little bed.

Thanks to y’all I went pick one up during my lunch break.

I have a large unused pot that I’ll put it in.

the peppers the plant makes are truly impressive. The only problem we had with it is one pepper takes care of an entire single use case and we had so many it was ridiculous. For poppers they are perfect

Pulled an entire 5 gallon bucket of carrots today so that’s what’s on the menu for the near future. Chopped and dropped a big patch of clover where the squashes will go. Replaced my frozen cucumbers and fertilized everybody with rotted manure top dress. Need some rain

How many roots did you plant? I've got four roots on year two. Wondering if they spread over time and how much one yields once established.

Where are you located? I assumed we couldn't grow that down here.
