Just got back from being out of the country for 10 days
I was doing the same a week or so ago. Two days after getting in, my mom visited for a week. I've barely touched the garden this year and it shows

I have managed to get the nutsedge temporarily out of the corn, tomatoes, and peppers. The beans were overtaken, so I just pulled them up and will start more seed when I plant okra and peas.

This has been a tough year...maybe next year. Or the fall.

I think my peppers will survive, but they pretty much defoliated all the plants and ate all the fruits. Bummer because they were loaded. Maybe I’ll get a late summer crop.

The wooden traps work great, but don’t relocate. Just kill him. They will find their way back if you don’t go far, far away.

Last year, my yard was loaded with honey bees, especially our Mexican heather. I have not seen one single bee this year.

I’ve been wondering how my cucumbers are getting pollinated. I was home all day yesterday and was in and out of the garden all day. Never saw a single bee. I saw one honeybee drinking pool water from the side of the pool, but that’s it.

Set out hummingbird feeders with excessive sugar and they will come

pulled the last potatoes last night after all the rain. All the onions are pulled except for a few red ones still green. This weekend may be the end for the broccoli and cauliflower with Okra taking its place. The green beans are in their death throes after all the heat this month.

Planted a row of black eyed peas, peanuts, and flowers for my wife. May try a second planting of squash for the hell of it. Otherwise, I am going to valve off and cover my empty rows until August. I joked that I would plant the whole thing with black eyed peas and okra but that sounds awful picking daily in July and August.

Turns out, two of my zucchini plants survived after grub removal. I checked again yesterday and one of those had 3 new ones.

That shite builds character man!

I loved my Grandpa, but hated staying over there in the summer because he had me and my brother picking pink eyed purple hulls every day.

I am suffering with blueberry picking. Maybe I shouldn't have planted so many bushes. I still have a gallon and a half of last year's berries in the freezer.

My little patch is doing well, suffering from not getting cucs pollinated, but have a couple bees starting to hang around. Had a squash borer problem, think I got them under control, then mildew set in, then some kind of straight line winds knocked em to hell. I may be done with squashes. Tomato plants are ridiculous. Setting so many tomatoes I dont know what the hell Im going to do with em all. Cherry and grapes are having some start turning. Celebrity, creole and some heirloom variety I planted are a couple weeks off. Pole beans are blooming, hoping to see some beans in short order. Okra was late planted but is starting to grow. Pepper plants are making way too many peppers, I plant them every year and wonder why. I throw away the majority.

It's amazing how many peppers three small Jalapeno plants can produce. Already bringing to the office. Shishido coming in. OTOH, I have picked all of one bell and zero poblanos.

If I had tomatoes coming on I could atleast make some salsa, for now it is a few poppers on the grill and slicing some to use with fajitas, etc. I planted some cayenne to make some pepper vinegar. Maybe could try some kind of hot sauce recipe?

Wondering the same. I’m going to give everything another day to dry up and I’ll be pulling mine up tomorrow.

I’m sure. I just looked up a recipe that looks awesome. Got on Amazon and ordered 12 bottles w the sealing wraps to bottle a dozen. We will see. My wife and youngest son consume Colibri like it is a drink.

Similar to onions, it’s best to hang them upside down on a wire rack in a shady spot for them to dry for a few weeks.

I don't have a wire rack to hang them. But just laying them down on the cement in the shade with a fan blowing on them has worked for me in the past. Takes about 3+ weeks to cure.

What are y’all doing about stink bugs on tomatoes?
I’ve tried manually removing, which is a joke. I come home with more than the day before.
Tried neeam oil and it makes them fly off but they are back the next day.
Any of yall have success deterring these things?
They are destroying my cherry tomatoes, the tomatoes are full of pin holes.
