Two new borer grubs this morning. Pretty sure I will never produce a zucchini.

Cleaned up some rows to start planting for fall garden. The number of cutworms in the weeds I pulled was staggering. Good thing I weirdly stockpile the empty toilet paper rolls to combat those bastards.

Update: the weeds are full of cabbage worms too. It’s hot.

Got fall flower seeds in, potatoes for Thanksgiving, first round of fall green beans, and some yellow squash/green zucchini. Getting in the pool now.

Let the garden get out of control. Wood for the raised beds rotted and so going to start over for next spring. 2 blueberry bushes in the back.

I mowed to knock all the BS and try to prevent it from getting out of control. Did some blueberry bush trimming

My question is, how would yall fix this up to get it back in action. There were 2 raised garden beds one at the front of the picture, one at the back. The blueberry bushes were in the back of the back raised bed.

I'm not worried about the fall just want it to be ready for the spring. Would just murdering everything other than the bushes with round up and then building raised beds again in the winter and bringing in some good dirt/soil for the beds be okay or is there a better way?

This. I'd burn it down with glyphosate first, then cover it. Get the thickest plastic sheeting you can find.

Green Pea recommendations? Never even attempted but it looks like the next few weeks is planting time.

I’ve had good results with Lincoln green peas in north Louisiana. They are pretty easy to grow. I just build a Florida weave trellis and let them climb. They are pretty cold hardy too.

My lone pumpkin is growing nicely. So far it’s still the only one.

Unfortunately I pulled a few of these bastards out of the vines this morning.

They seem to be surviving for now. I injected some BT in the problem areas.

I started some cabbage seeds and they are coming up!

I have started to suspect that borers were my cucumber problem and found my first confirmed one Sunday morning. I may need to take a year break on all of those type plants.

First time planting a fall garden in a long time. My direct seeded cucumbers broke the surface this morning after a nice inch of rain yesterday evening. I also direct seeded carrots and beets. I seeded kale, leaf lettuce (red and green), chard, spinach, and onion in trays. Have some elephant garlic cloves I’ll drop in when it cools off a bit. Here to learn some garden wisdom from the pros.

I'm going to squeeze some fall stuff in mine, but I love my summer garden so much. I have peppers and basil still going crazy and the cherry tomatoes I left alone are starting to flower again. It's so hard to let go! But, I know I have to, and at least the fall garden isn't so hot and buggy lol.

I pulled some peppers from a container and planted beets. I've never really had much success with them, but these will be babied.

My lawn especially needed it. My garden is on an irrigation timer, but nothing beats mother nature's fix!

Pretty rare we get a rain like this time of year sans a tropical storm.
