You should see what’s not in these pictures.

I don't direct sow my cukes and green beans. I start them like everything else. I have never had a problem with transplanting them.

I like to pick at him a little bit. His garden is what mine would look like if I weren't lazy.

Me either, fortunately.

I appreciate the compliments.

I used to start my cucumbers and beans early and never had much trouble with transplanting them. Now it’s more a lack of space under the lights. With direct sowing they tend to creep for the first few weeks but then they take off like wildfire!

My cantaloupes started off with a bang and are now about 8” tall and starting to turn a little yellow. Is this normal color for them or do you think I have a problem?

They appear to be growing fine the color just changed a little

Leaf yellowing could be a sign of one or many different things. Nutrient deficiency, overwatering, underwatering, root rot, bacterial/fungal disease, improper soil pH, you name it. One of those things could lead to some of the others. You’ll need to figure out what’s out of balance.

Just sent soil samples off after bringing in new soil, and adding elemental sulphur and triple 13 a couple of months ago. Hopefully the levels are much better now. The plants are all doing fine so far.

What is the best option for weed killer in vegetable gardens?

My veggies are doing great, but the weeds are out of control, I can't seem to pick them fast enough.

Are you all snipping your peppers' first flowers or nah? I see this recommended a lot. If so, at what point do you let them fruit?

I let mine fruit. I've done both and never seen a difference. Only thing pulling flowers got me was delayed fruit production.

Module 13 Garden Weeds

If you go to about the 15 minute mark he starts going through the different herbicide options.

I usually do this right before transplanting. After that I just let em rock n roll.

I just did a walk through and two of my pepper plants were a single stalk. I went ahead and topped those. The rest already had good branching, so I left those alone.

Looking for a little of advice here. Maybe I am over analyzing. I planted peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers about 3 weeks ago. My planters are an elevated raised planter. I filled the planters with the organic miracle grow raised bed soil.

As of today, my plants, especially my tomato plants have grown very little. I fertilized them yesterday with fish fertilizer. One of my pepper plants (lunchbox red pepper) have started to sprout tiny peppers. Some of my other pepper plants, like the ones pictured below, have leaves turning yellow and falling off near the bottom of the plants. When I planted, I covered the soil with mulch that I have since pulled away from the base of the plant. I read after the fact that the mulch could not be letting the soil get up to the temperature required to let them grow during this time of year.

Am I over analyzing? LOL. Any advice is appreciated.

its peppers. They'll fart around for a while and then you'll walk out there and they have hit the gas pedal. The heat and humidity will help them. Then shortly after, you'll be covered in peppers.

My peppers look like crap also, and I seed started some and bought some at the plant nursery.

Mine are all sluggish as well. I'm pretty sure it's because the nighttime temps have still been mostly in the 50s. They did this last year, too. My tomato plants have been about the same size since I planted 2 weeks ago. Seems like middle of April they take off and grow like crazy.

This. Once the nighttime temperatures are consistently about 70, they’ll take off.

Same here. Mine are beautiful and flowering, just not growing much yet.
