Here's my plan and theoretical planting list. I started pepper seeds last night.
There will be 4-6' between the top U shaped bed and the bottom rectangular bed. My plan is the plant peppers on the east side of the u-shaped bed, with tomatoes in the 2sqft blocks in the center and the west side.
The bottom rectangular bed will be planted with squash an zucchini on the south side and cucumbers on the north side, with the idea being that the cucumbers grow up and over the trellis. I'm also going to plan cherry tomatoes along the trellis in the u-shaped bed to get them to grow up and over the trellis as well. When the squash in the south bed succumb to the vine borers, I will replace with okra plants.
Variety plan for peppers (space for 16 plants, plus a small planter box for overflow):
Islander
California Wonder
Escamillo
Carmen
Thunderbolt
Shishito
Jimmy Nardello
Big Boy Jalapeno
Hungarian Hot Wax
Gypsy
Tomato (space for 16 plants):
Cherokee Purple
Dwarf Fred's Tie Dye
Dwarf Tennessee Suited
Dwarf Wild Fred
Dwarf Arctic Rose
Dwarf Rosella Purple
Big Beef
Sungold
Sweet Million
Squash/Zucchini (Space for 6 plants):
Zephyr Squash
Tiger Zucchini
Cucumbers:
Sweet Success
Pickling variety. I'm looking at Adam Gherkin. Does anybody have any suggestions? I generally order these Ukrainian parthenocarpic varieties, but that's not happening anymore unfortunately.

Can y'all recommend what type of dirt I should put in some new raised beds? We have 8 6' x 3' raised beds, 2' deep, we have several layers of cardboard covering the bottom, twigs and sticks on top of that and now we need to fill them up. Any companies y'all can recommend that will bring in a truckload or so and what type of dirt am I looking at getting?
Looking forward to this thread for sure, y'all have some great advice and set ups.

Long time listener first time caller.
I’m in this year.
Starting seeds this weekend.
Good luck with this chilly weather coming.

Hopefully someone from that area will be able to better assist you. But a lot of garden center / landscaping companies will sell a garden soil blend. I don’t know if Cleggs delivers but that’s a name I always hear brought up from BR.

They're my favorite tomato and have been the biggest tomato in my garden for the last several years. They're really good looking and the taste is great. Similar to Cherokee purple but a bit more acidic IMO.

I’m fixing to do the same. All of my seeds came in today!
Except for the tie-dye tomatoes. But I just ordered those yesterday.

I got the last of my seeds in today. I'll just need to get seed potatoes in a couple weeks.
I'm hoping to save seeds from this year for next. We did that with snap beans last year, so I'll see how they do this year.

This past fall I built an outdoor sink and table. Figured it would come in handy for fish cleaning and gardening stuff. I’m loving it. It’s one of those things I wish I would’ve done years ago.
Over the weekend I got my pepper seeds started and under the lights.
Harvested some mustard greens from the fall/winter garden.
Now I have to disconnect the lines in preparation for the freeze.

I ended up staying home from work today. Figured I'd plant my peppers since I'd prepped the pots for them over the weekend. They've been on a heating pad since this morning and they're still chunks of ice.

I have one question: When do you possibly have any time to fish????

That’s what I use probably more than half my vacation days for.

Covered my tomato plants to protect from the freeze and they still got smoked. They were producing pretty well too.

I have two 4x8 beds and a 4x12 bed. I'm going to plant some other pepper types in grow bags. Might throw in some eggplant as well.

Been married for 20 years, my wife doesnt like mustard greens, so I only cook them once a year. Had my annual pot of greens this weekend and praise be to God she tried them and liked them.
One of my favorite things. Yours look great!

Started tomatoes (2 varieties of romas, an italian grape, and brown sugar); eggplant; and nadapeno, banana, and poblano peppers last Thursday. All 36 of the Romas and a couple of the brown sugar, Italian grape, and nadapenos had germinated yesterday.
