Google Carmen Peppers. I’ve been growing them for a while now. They’re green, but ripen red. They’re just like the red snack peppers. One year I had 5-8 plants, and in September they went haywire. I bet I had 200+ at one time. Every morning and evening I would go in the garden and eat 10 or so. Taste sweet and hardly ever had any disease on them. One of the only peppers I ever grown here in the south that Dosent mold or rot real quick after it turns red. I’ll plant them every year.

You will love the Carmens. Prolific producer and delicious. Sometimes mine grow so large I can stuff them. I have two plants in the greenhouse that have produced all winter.
When you pick them after they turn red, save the seeds and plant next year.

Just got some Aji Charapita seeds in. Planted and put them on heat mats yesterday.
Going to yank up all of my collard/mustard/turnip greens next week. My dog has kept the collards mowed down like a deer but hasn't touched the other two rows.

It is always better to keep as much as possible off the ground to keep pests and ground borne diseases at bay. As far as heavy fruit, the vines will bear the weight. They are pretty tough. But that's also why you would use pool noodles on the rims of hanging baskets. This spreads the load on a possible pinch point. I hope that helps!

You got it going on over there! I might see if they still have some seed potatoes at my local garden center. I have some grow bags that I could plant some in. I’ve never messed with potatoes before and I don’t really know why. Maybe it’s time to try.
My seedlings are coming along. Yesterday afternoon I thinned most of them down to one plant per pot. We will have some warm and sunny weather this week so I am going to try to get them outside and get a head start on hardening them off if I can.

I used the nylon netting you can get on Amazon with good results. Stake it about every 8-10 ft and it's surprisingly strong.

Received my soil results from LSU Ag and seem to be low in just about everything. I spoke to him yesterday and he gave me some things to add, but he mentioned adding 4lbs of Potash per 8' x 4' bed, does that seem a bit high? I know he's the expert, but the back of the bag shows adding considerably less.

That does seem high, but I’d listen to him. If your soil is depleted that may be what it takes to get it to the right levels.

Does anyone have recommendations on grow lights? The durolux that I got a few years ago is discontinued.
I’ve got 2 two foot sections side by side but need to double that up because these damn 6” pots take up so much room.
I’ve done potatoes in grow bags a couple of times, just have to watch for ants. They’ve gotten in there a couple of times and eaten through the potatoes while building a nest.
