Has anyone had success with Jobe's tomato spikes??
I have yet to use them on tomatoes, but I stand by their citrus spikes.

So i have over planted seedlings for the area i have made for my garden and seems the seeds i got are good because they are all sprouting..... what are some cheap pots i can put to plant all the seedlings that dont have a home. I bought a few 3 packs at costco but $20 for 3 seems a bit expensive. Any ideas?

What size do you need? Search nursery pots on Amazon and you’ll get a bunch of bulk options for pretty cheap.

Depends on the plant. I bought a pkg of 15 gal for tomatoes and peppers.
15 gal from Amazon
Determinates.they recommend 10 gal and indeterminate 20 gal. I split the difference and plan to go one to a pot/container
*** I got lost as to who was replying to who so disregard the reply. The sizing infor may be helpful for future reference so I'll leave it up

I bought 5 15 gal for potatoes last year. They require a lot of dirt.

For anyone interested, I emailed the guy who did the linked video on carrot growing medium for raised beds. If you are starting a new bed, he said you can use a mixture of black kow & straw for the base layer (which is the bottom 3/4 of the soil in your raised bed. I already did a beet box w/ just low nitrogen organic potting soil. Hopefully it will still produce decent sized beets. We love the greens too so not a total loss if there’s too much N. I’m gonna try the black kow/straw for my carrot bed this w/e.

I filled a combination of 15 20&25 gallon and 2 50 gallon bags a couple of weeks ago. It took 1.5yds of raised bed mix, 50lbs of perlite, and 3ft of peat moss.

Would you recommend using citrus spikes on a young tree planted last month?

I get free used ones from the Nursery or you could go find a landscaping crew doing work and see if they will give you theirs

I would. I planted 6 trees last year with one stake each. There is a fair amount of distance between the trees.
They've all survived and grown well. I believe the packaging has a go by for how many stakes should be used based on the diameter of the tree.

Waited for the weather yesterday to pass to get the plants in the ground. Should i put pine straw around the onions as well?

They would benefit from it. So it wouldn’t be a bad idea.

What’s the recommended amount of MiracleGro for a gallon of water to use on seedlings? I want to give mine a little boost. I did a search but only see amounts for indoor plants. Seedlings are a month old if that matters w/ their 2nd set of leaves. TIA
