Just ordered a couple of feeders to put out this year. Hope to see some around.

Quesion: Our house has a back patio between a what's a 90-degree angle (L-shape?). Is under the soffit a good place to hang them, maybe one on each leg of the "L?"

You want to have a few out there, with at least one out of line of sight of the others. This prevents an a-hole make from dive bombing anyone who tries to feed at the feeders he can see. Helps keep more birds.

One did just this several years ago. Wouldn’t even eat, would just sit on a branch and dive at any other bird trying to land on a feeder. Then go back to the branch

So just have one around the corner from another, maybe?

That’s probably good. I have at least one all the way in the front of my house too to be safe.

Just saw first visitor to my feeder this morning in BR.

Had my first Ruby-throated hummingbird of the year yesterday. There was a battle between the two Rufous that overwintered here, and the newcomer ruby male...and today I've only seen the Ruby-throated. Seems like he's convinced them to move on out.

Well then I'll remain hopeful that we'll get them here South of Lafayette .. feeders are clean but I haven't put them out yet.

Last year, I saw a hummer, put the feeders out and never saw another one.

Put out 2 feeders today. How often does water need to be changed out?

ast year, I saw a hummer, put the feeders out and never saw another one.

Location (cover, away from windows) and other attractants are key

Set out my feeders late Saturday afternoon. Sat down around 5:30pm yesterday and had 3 already buzzing around.

Recommendations for the BEST type of feeders and where to buy?

Or are they all created equal?

I’ve found they all last a few years and then either break or get rusty if there is any metal, no matter if it’s coated or painted etc

Hummzinger feeders, from Amazon. They are trays, not bottles/jars. Much easier to clean.

That design doesn’t leak, either.
