I remember reading some stuff about that a while back. I never did it because didn’t want them stealing nutrients from my vegetables. It would probably be a negligible amount anyway. Let us know if you notice any benefits.

I’ve done it in the past, couldn’t really tell the difference but the wife liked more flowers.

Think my wife would notice if I put a hive in my backyard?

Or would that be over kill?

I tried that marigold thing one year. What happened was the flea beetles made them their bitches. If you touched the marigolds while trying to pick your garden, those little bastards would jump all over you.

I hope this doesn't happen to you. Let me know what happens.

Got my garden planted today.

So, everything is planted except for cucumbers and beans. Which I’ll probably sow this weekend.

Better Bush. These are the ones I grew from seed. They appear to not have taken any herbice damage unlike the rest of my tomatoes. Maybe they’ll have a low yield and stunted growth. Time will tell.

To the left of the Better Bush I have Roma’s. They are still small. To the right are Early Girl.

Carmen, Cayenne, and Jalapeño

Onions. I have no idea what these are going to do, but the pack of sets said to plant after last frost and harvest in summer. We shall see.

Right pot: Rosemary
Box: English Lavender, White Lisbon bunching onions, Greek Oregano, Mojito Mint, and Sweet Basil
Left pot: knockout rose

Right pot: New Madrid Rose Lavender
Left pot: Mixed Zinnia. Have not sprouted yet.

Looking for increased green bean production. We are reducing the variety in our garden so I have real estate. I have traditionally done snap pole beans, but Im wondering if bush makes more.

Any suggestions on what to try?

Typically pole beans produce more because they have a longer harvest period. I’m not sure if any Bush varieties typically yield more than pole.

ETA: I really like Blue Lake beans. They have pole and bush varieties. Kentucky Wonder is also a good one.

Plant some of those yard long beans. They are not afraid to produce heavily.

I’m already fed up with the squirrels. They are digging in my garden and herb box. Only a matter of time before they dig up one of my plants. Just ordered an Orbit 62100 Yard Enforcer Motion-Activated Sprinkler. For the price, that thing better work.

Go to pound.

Adopt a cat.

Put it in your backyard and feed for 2 weeks.

Stop feeding.

Profit.

Man, I used to have a pair of outside cats at my old house. They were some beasts. Killed anything that they could get their paws on. I miss them.

Absolutely not. The problem is I’m at work when they are at work on my garden.

Bastards. Not that I’d advocate anything illegal, but I hear they like corn

Get "The Squirrelinator" and some sunflower seed. Hint: that tray that is the depth of the trap is NOT for keeping your car clean.
