May I make a suggestion?
Methinks adding a music board is only going to further segregate the boards. I think the M/TV board and a music board should be combined.
If that's not on your table of options, then I am all for a music board and your rules sound reasonable.

I don't really care, because if it's something I don't like, I'll just close the tab/thread. I also don't have people looking over my shoulder to see what I'm looking at on my computer.
But some people are really picky about things posted that don't have the NSFW label attached, judging by the "Dude, put NSFW in the title!" comments you see on some threads.

You should know what youre getting into on the Music board if youre at work. Its your fault if you click on a "Best songs from Watch the Throne" thread and one of the videos is cussing and youre at work

I would assume that thread would be ok unless it turned into "Im listening to Guns and Roses...Anyway lets talk about backchannel relationships and other random OT clique stuff" but i could be wrong
I would hate to see the Music Board turned into nothing but LNMT, EDMT, MMT and other nonsensical im threads every day. Leave that for the OT

I don't see how it would be a problem if its just a LNMT thread every night and that's it. I guess that wouldn't really be IM as those usually are all music discussion.

Thats what I mean. I cant see them having a problem with it if it stays on as a music discussion but if it turns into what the Late night Snack Thread is on the OT then I think theyll whack it

No for real, do we have an ETA for this?
As far as what format we are going to make playlists for, why dont we have 2 or 3 music players that are the most common, and allow those and just make sure somewhere in the post or thread title tells which program its for.
Rhapsody, itunes, and probably spotify since so many people like it. Not need to force everyone to use the same program if they dont really like it. That will only lower the amount of people that will use the board.

i've made this suggestion many times. Make an Entertainment Board that includes:
Movie
TV
Music
Books
Magazines
And, change the Soccer Board to the Rap/Pop Board so those of us with taste don't have to sift through the crap.

If anything it will keep people on TD longer as there is less need to leave the board to go to other boards for many topics.
I think the music board will do good, but I also support the health board too.

Dunno if it has been said yet, but a weekly sticky of albums coming out that week should be a given. Maybe promoting a trusted poster to a semi-admin position that can only stick threads on the music board for this purpose.
The second idea is probably stupid and should be thrown out, but the first one I stand by.
