He wasn't too kind to me in his Bronson Manifesto, but I admit, since he's been back, I've had no problems with his posting. While politically we're diabolically opposed, he seems like a decent dude to me.

i concur..for all those apartment dwellers & people of money who don't have to worry about lawn upkeep, you have no clue as to the rigors of yardsmanship.

people like me & festus don't have the luxury of zero-turning, and with our overweight bodies on a small rear engine rider along with our ryobi combo trimmer & blower attachment, well we end up smelling like a disgusting mixture of 2 cycle motor oil, sweat, stepped in dog shite & beer when we finish our lawns.

I hate it when you type stuff like that....it leaves us wanting to know more...which you'll never tell us.

Was it Athanatos you said was an alter, but never said who?

I read this captivating thread last night after drinking for a few hours...Then I dreamt of festus. The dream had to do with gardening and yardwork and fetus was some kind of savant when it came to growing 'maters...I had some with some issues the fetus rode in and saved the day..or the garden anyway...

I doubt LSUDad knew that either since riding lawnmower troubleshooting tips aren't in the yellow pages ..

Fetus.
Here's what you need to do.
Your problem will come back because you have some crux that has settled into the float/needle bowl area of the carbon.
You need to buy a can of berrymans carbon cleaner, remove the bowl, remove the rod that holds the needle/float.
Spray the cleaner into the seat "where the needle goes".

Put everything back together and buy you an online on/off switch.
Everytime you kill the engine do it by shutting off the fuel.
This will keep the gas that sits in the bowl from going bad and humming up everything.

Thanks meauxjeaux. When you say bowl, where and what exactly is this?

I just replaced the fuel filter, but it doesn't seem like that fixed the problem. Is the bowl part of the carberatur?
