I joined last week. Not using it right now though and not sure I will as I like to do my own macros.

Looks like he is a proponent of IIFYM. Is that accurate?

I just joined for my wife. I could have told her the exact same macros but if somebody else says it she won't argue and is more likely to follow.

Seems nice enough. Lots of recipes.

Been trying to get her to log for years.

Signed her up and she's logged everything today, first time ever

I read a ton of stuff related to nutrition and fitness and Layne was the first guy I came across that cut out all the BS

He's very anti bro science and backs up his stuff with studies and science

Follow him on instagram and on Facebook. He does Facebook live "ask me anything" chats every couple of weeks and they are great.

Avatar is very informative. I like it so far

Actually the last six weeks she has seen me meal prep everything and watching me eat carbs and keeps asking wtf diet are you on. Tried explaining carb cycling to her but she said it sounded way too complicated. Honestly after six weeks of working with this world renowned trainer, she is right.

He has made me have frickarounditus in the gym, and has me doing a shite ton of cardio, just not working and is way way too complicated. Told him as much last night, he wasn't exactly happy but I am done with him after another 2 weeks anyways.

Carb cycling is the way to go. I haven't done it in a long time but that's when I looked and felt my best for sure.

Following my macros is just too complicated for me. If I go out to eat it's all just a guess anyway.

He had me doing one med carb, 3 low carbs, 2 no carbs and then a high carb but honestly it sucked. It didn't have any coralation to my lifting which it should. I much prefer the carb cycling approach of lean gains and it's what I will go back to eventually but now I have to play catch up.

Very VERY simple but effective.

During the week it's easy but yeah the weekends I wouldn't bother tracking though MyFitnessPal does have a huge database

Love avatar but a few tips if you think its too much to track

Worry about hitting two targets- Protein and total calories for the day. All that matters is the average for the week.

For instance, if you want to have a little more freedom on Friday and Saturday and your goal is to average 3k a day per week, then do 2800/2900 during week and 3200/3300 on weekends and it will even out to 3,000 for the 7 day week.

Been doing that for a long time and it works well for me.

I agree, with one caveat: fiber. Eat your fiber
