Never really done this. But some days (like today) i just feel like going back in the evening because I'm in a bad mood and bored.

Anything inherently wrong with this? Or is it normal to do

other than fatigue and injury lol. What could go wrong. I would mix cardio and weights. not double down on weights

This is what walks, hikes, and runs are for.

Inherently bad? No.

It increases muscle stress, which can build muscle, but also impacts recovery. How much of each effect you get depends on how well it fits your program.

If it's just tossed in because you're bored, it doesn't sound particularly well planned and is unlikely to drive positive results. I agree with the hike, swim or walk option. Burn the boredom with lower intensity work. Plus, it's good to be outside.

No as long as you eat enough and make sure you warm up correctly if done on a consistent basis.

It ain't gonna hurt you if you don't do it often.

Doesn’t happen often but ran 4 miles this am. Worked out back with some rowing and stairclimber this afternoon.

I've done this a couple of times on the weekend. Do my weights and a quick cardio cool down in the morning and go back for a longer cardio session in the evening

But that's largely due to boredom on my part as well. Working out of town and don't feel like burning a ton of money since I'm saving up for a down payment on another house.

Just use common sense

It isn’t as if you doing two squat sessions or two Bulgarian Olympic weightlifting training regiments.

Lets be clear. If you are lifting once and doing conditioning/cardio the other there’s no issue.

Not normally classified as "working out", but I read the other day that the average male Boston Marathon qualifier runs over 7 times a week. So, the good runners will sprinkle in some two-run a day days.
