On the bottom, I wouldn't notice. In the middle, I don't really feel it or notice. On the top = super unstable and hard; pass.

My preference is no plate. In most shoes (if not all) plates aren't even a factor. Hell, even nike said that the vaporfly's measurable energy conservation was one percent or less from the plate. With error sampling, that's basically nil.

Any advice for someone who has flat feet /shin splints issues? This for Quail Man

I can only jog for like 5-7 mins tops and I'm 200 lbs 6'2. I even went to the doc and grabbed special soles, been doing more squats to improve my glutes, thighs for impact but I'm still unable to do longer runs.

Keep in mind this is after 2 min stretches, 16 min abs, and 35 min hours at the gym for upper body strength.

Feel like I'm missing something but I'm super sore the next day usually lol.

Shin splints always kept me from running. I'd start and get three or four weeks in and have to stop. Finally, I went to a PT that specializes in runners. He made sure that I didn't have any micro fractures and told me just to run through it and ice whenever it hurt. After a couple of weeks, the shin splints went away.

Ordered these yesterday to have something to rotate between the Altra's. Saw some dude running in them a couple of times. Figure I'll ease into these.

I’d one hundred percent go to a PT to get them to look over it.

If those don't work out, I could prob make something similar out of cardboard and shoestrings for you.

Yep. There’s a guy that runs around Birmingham in them. Been looking for another zero drop shoe to rotate with and haven’t been able to find anything locally besides Altras which I already have. Will advise.

I tend to get a wider sized shoe, does Saucony run wider or more narrow? They don’t seem to have a wide option. Still trying to figure out which shoe I should get. I Generally run 3-4 miles 4x a week. Wanting to get a shoe that’ll help quicken my times. Been debating on the NB rebels and 1080 v11 but unsure how everyone feels about those. I’m usually just a one running shoe person. Don’t really rotate so wanna try and get ones that’ll last me a while

I find Saucony runs pretty true to size and are not uncomfortably narrow like some Nike. Even my Kinvara feel wider in the foot than say my Peg 37.

One shoe to do it all, go with the NB Rebel. I don’t find Saucony narrow, but I have average width feet. NB trend wide and offer wide size.

Deviate Nitro Cooladapt for $96+tax and shipping. I’d buy them if I didn’t have a new pair of Endorphin Speeds already.

Ran for two days in the Xero Clouds. These are taking some getting used to. They feel great for about three miles then they start rubbing my feet. I really enjoy the barefoot feel and will continue to use them once a week until I can get comfortable in them.

it's time to get new shoes. I currently run in Brooks Anthem 2 shoes. I've completed two half marathons in them. My best time was 8:37/mi pace. I am training for a marathon in mid-January 2022.

My shoes wear on the outside of my feet. Occasionally, I have knee pain. Sometimes, I have hip pain, but that's usually when I run on slanted surfaces.

It seems endorphin speeds are popular here.

Anyone tried the Nike Invincible Zoom X? I was a Nike guy most of my life when they made solid trainers but in the last 10-15 years have moved to Saucony, NB and most recently Asics Novablast. The Novablast give a great deal of cushioning which I like but during the run there is no “energy return” and feel dead legged at the end of runs. I’ve tried on the Invincible and liked the “spring” in the step when I walked around in them. Anyone have any thoughts on them?

Interesting. How many miles on the Novablast? Most reviews are unanimous in saying it’s a really bouncy shoe, to the point it’s unstable. Think there is someone here with Invincibles. Supposedly they are pretty squishy, probably not what you’re looking for but everyone has different interpretations of energy return.
