Thanks, man. I still love running. I have just had a hard time reaching my potential in recent years.

I think a half size up actually fits my feet perfectly in Nike.
yeah, going up with thick socks in Nike works far better for me than TTS.
the issue is there is only 1 type of sock (that I've found so far) that's thick enough; thorlo max cushion basketball or running sock. the socks are expensive, heavy, and don't work with any of my other shoes.

if anyone still looking for V1 endo speed $96 or pro $120 use flashfriday for extra 20% off at saucony.

I took advantage of the deal on the Speeds about a month ago thanks to a poster. For someone who just recently got into endurance running after Covid (primarily CrossFit training), what are the major differences between the Speed and Pro? I'm considering doing my first half in February with the girlfriend.

Pro has a rigid carbon plate that makes the midsole very firm (arguably the firmest of all the plated super shoes). You really need to be fast or heavy (or some combination of the 2) to get the benefit of the Pro. The plate in the speed is nylon and the midsole is much softer without being squishy or mushy; it has a nice bounce to it.
If you’re interested in a carbon plated shoe, the nb rc elite or either of the nikes would be better for a softer ride.

What are y’all wearing for your long runs these days? Need a new long run shoe.

What are you considering a "long" run? just get some endorphin speeds and be done with it. not going to find a better shoe for $100 that can do any type of run. I've done speed work on the treadmill to 30 mile run with 2500' of hills.
no sure why people think they need a different pair of shoes for every possible run out there.

20 plus miles. I have endorphin speeds and love them, just consider them to be more of a tempo or speed shoe. They’re lighter and I like something a little more supportive for the longer and slower runs. I’ve used Hoka Clifton in the past and liked those. Nike Pegasus as well.
I’ll give them a shot this weekend as a longer run shoe though and see how it feels

Can find New Balance 1080v10 for $100 or less right now. Not the best shoe I’ve ever run in, but solid overall especially at $100. Upper is good for cooler months, not the best for Summer.

What about the Rebel V2? Soft and light? Someone has to buy that damn shoe and review it on here. I still want a pair so bad but with the Endorphin Pro as cheap as it is, I can't pull the trigger yet. I use the Pro for every run. I finally found my quiver killer.

i think you'll be pleasantly surprised. i love my speeds for longer, slower runs. i know some people/reviewers have mentioned instability at slower paces, but i haven't experienced it.

Q-man
now you've provided a little more detail as to what you are looking for. GF in the past has run many 20+ mile training runs in Nike Infinity React and never had an issue. Even race a 50 miler to a 7hr 25min finish.
I've also ran in Brooks Ghost .
Sorry if i came across blunt in pervious response

You’re good, my guy. Didn’t take it as blunt.
I’ll look into true infinity. I haven’t run in ghost in a long time and have in the past loved them. May need to see the reviews on the more recent version to see what’s going on there.
BRM, I have a teammate that runs in the rebel. They have good reviews too. I have fuel cells and love them so I’m definitely willing to try some more new balance.

Hey all, just a headsup, I was at academy yesterday meandering for some running shorts and as always, went to the shoe section.
Went into clearance and there were a bunch of Brooks launch, adrenaline, revels, ASICS cumulus, GT 1000, new balance, etc all for under $50. The lady was hauling tons of them over and said clearance was going to be 30% off tomorrow (being today.) I very rarely find anything in their clearance section but I could have spent $200 and set myself up with shoes for the next 2-3 years.
Definitely a YMMV situation but I got a pair of Brooks launch 8s for $45. I could have waited but I’d wager launches in my size for $30 wasn’t going to be there after work today.

Which Academy in CenTex would that be? Might make a pass if live close to it. I've gotten some steals in Academy clearance over the years.

i was in temple. no idea if the sale is still going on but i got my kids basketball shoes and soccer cleats for the next year.
i ended up with Brooks Launch ($50, would have been $30, but i was right not to wait for the next day because they were all gone) and New Balance Altoh ($17) and Asics Excites ($28.) not a bad week, but i'm done buying shoes for a good long while. spent about $200 for 7 pairs of shoes between me and my kids.
they had adrenalines, ghosts, and glycerines all for about $75 before the 30% discount. asics had cumulus and gt2000 for about $40.

Finally got my feet broken into these Altra Torin 4.5s. I need another zero drop shoe to mix in with these. I like rotating a couple of pairs of shoes. A different brand would be great. The Torins are very comfortable. Any recommendations?
