Okay, 4 miles down in the 1080v10. Super early first impression is they’re great. Lots of cushion, I don’t find them overly soft, nice smooth/easy toe off at slow and moderate paces, not overly bouncy. The shoe feels premium - the knit is very nice, build quality seems high. Probably a “warmer” shoe, but I can live with that. I do wish it was 5mm drop, but I don’t know that I’ll really notice the +3mm vs my old Hoka’s. Definitely a wider fit, toe box is accommodating, I didn’t have any heel slip even though I thought I might (I have narrow heels), no blisters or anything.
Only nag is the nag I’ve been having that I can’t figure out. I keep getting shin splints the first 2 to 3 miles no matter the shoe, I’ve never had this issue and I’m not sure what’s causing it. It’s either my volume has been low so I’m out of running shape, or playing soccer twice a week is messing with my legs somehow. No clue but hope it goes away.

I like the alphaflys because I can go slow or fast in them. Vaporfly I can only go fast. They are too firm at slower speeds. But, of course, that’s what they’re meant for.

Not sure when the price drop happened, but some of the Ultraboost 20 are $90 at adidas.com, low stock though.

“Boost” greatest under foot feel of any material; so heavy though. Bring the sub 2 back adidas! “Boost lite”

Jordan how is the sizing on the NB 1080? I’m about to order a pair being they are on sale. Typically wear a 9.5 in Saucony and Nike.

I’d say overall they run true to size, slightly on the larger side. I’m a size 9, but can squeeze into an 8.5. I ordered my usual size 9 and have almost a full thumb at the toe in the 1080. My foot does not slide around despite the extra room. Hope that’s enough to guide you lol. The 1080 is an accommodating fit for sure.

I’m going to order those and some Hoka Carbon X.

hearing good things on the carbon x2's. the first carbon x was somewhat divisive, though it has served me well as a tempo shoe.

They may end up as a work shoe if I don’t like running in them or return and get the Endorphins.

9.5 in saucony and Nike should be a 9.5 in 1080 as well.

First run in Saucony Endorphin Speed and I appreciate the recommendations. I'm confident they will get me through my last 7 week training block before my full..
I'm going to be running longer and harder and wanted something different.
My evolution has been--> Hoka, Brooks, Nike, Adidas , and now Saucony
I will say the Alphaflys are much better when used at a faster pace like Sunday's half. I am going to search for a new shoe if I continue to do fulls.

I couldn't agree more!

Have these in my sights. Or the Pro. I noticed the fella that won the Full this past weekend that we did was wearing them. Not sure if the Speed or Pro though. It was a sea of Alpha/Vapor otherwise. Speaking of, I crossed over the 100 mile mark on my N% during the race (122). Is the current thinking no more racing in them after 100? Can't say they feel any different, but I wasn't really thinking about my shoe feel during the race, just hanging on. I have a hard time deciding when it's time to retire shoes anyway.

I started in Asics and then Saucony Kinvaras from 3-8, then Altra and Nike ZF. I want to try different shoes so I went with a NB and Hoka. That’s what I love about running warehouse. Exchange them if I need to.

Anybody interested/excited in the upcoming Nike zoomx invincible?

I’m intrigued. Every first impression review has been very positive.

Out of curiosity, are you a member of the running shoe geeks Facebook group?

I was, technically still am I suppose. I deactivated my FB about 6 months ago.

Is this the same concept as the subreddit?

I believe so.
