My plan tomorrow is 25 miles at 17+ mph. I've had two good rides this week (both 15-milers) at 17.5 and 17.6 so I feel pretty good about it.

One scotch, a nice meal, and rest for me tonight

Looking forward to some crit racing in Shreveport over the next 3 Wednesdays.

I will be a spectator, 40min run on the cat 1,2 and 3 so they should pass by quite a few times.

Just asking this generally to the group--what do some of your typical indoor workouts look like? I got a peloton for my wife, and I actually like it and ride it pretty often. Recently I've gotten into raising my FTP because I really enjoy seeing improvement in fitness as a quantifiable metric. I've been working on improving my FTP over the last few months using instructor-led powerzone classes, but want to do some "just-ride" or scenic workouts where I can structure intervals myself and can listen to my own music/sports event etc.
Here are two I've been doing:
-2x20 minute sweet-spot around 90% FTP with a 5 minute recovery in between
-2x20 minute threshold at 100% FTP with a 10 minute recovery in between

Any workouts y'all can suggest that are effective at raising FTP but will take an hour or less?

I typically do sweet spot and 2x15 ftp on a weekly basis then i’ll mix in one high intensity short interval session.

The 2x ftp workouts and sweet spot are some of the best for building ftp

Take a Christian Vande Velde pro cyclist ride. He has some good ones on there. Look for one that is 8.5 or higher. The last one I took basically stayed at zone 4 for 14 minutes and then a brief rest before going back up again to zone 4. If you want a good workout and to get stronger then take a few of his classes. They will kick your arse!!

I’ve bought a few things from them. They seem very nice. Have had my bike tuned and worked on by The Spokesman a few times and they’ve been great to me.

How do you like that SMP Forma saddle? I’ve been jonesing for a new saddle. I jump back in forth from 2 Selle Aspides. 1 full hard Carbon and 1 leather but they are both very flat. The SMP curvature seems appealing to me.

From the pics I think you need to use the angled Varia mount or flip the one you are using. Yours is angled down much more so than mine. Mine is almost perpendicular with the ground.

I like it alot. I have an evolution on my gravel bike as well. The forma is hard as it doesnt have any padding at all. The evolution is the same shape but has a small amount of padding. SMP saddles take a little getting used to but they are great once you do
