I think I can put another 10 watts on that this year. Plus lose a kilo or 2 and settle in around 142-143. Have only put in 2 rides longer than 3 hrs this year but late spring is here so outdoor riding is all systems go.

I just signed up for a 12 hour endurance mountain bike race in the single speed division. It will be an interesting learning experience. I have 6 weeks to prepare. With gears I can just throttle back to zone 2 and can pretty much pedal around all day. The single speed doesn't afford me that luxury. I don't have a lot of time to test my nutrition strategy but that will definitely be key. Picked up one of those soft flasks to give plain sugar a try.

Any try one of the 3d printed saddles from Aliexpress? I've had some success with other things from there, but they are like a third of the cost of the well known brands.

I have the specialized one on my MTB and love it. Have the fizik one on my gravel bike and it’s great too but I prefer the specialized one for some reason. Worth the money

We're headed out to Santa Fe, New Mexico for the opening round of the Revolution Enduro series. We were really torn on leaving town for this race, since the Bentonville Bike Fest is going on right now at "home." Last year, they wouldn't let any of the locals on the big slopestyle line they build for the festival, and that kind of annoyed the boy, as all he wanted to do all weekend was hit that line (he did eventually sneak on it and hit it, but only got one run in). Anyway, lots of pros and such in town, but it's also kind of annoying because it's so busy. Still, lots of friends we know in from all over the country, so we hate to miss getting to ride with them on "home" trails.

That being said, the boy is looking forward to racing at Glorieta and going up against some different groms. I just got the Stumpy Evo frame the boy won for me built up, but I'm just going to ride while we're out and not race. Still stoked to try out the new frame.

Hopped back on the bike Saturday for the first time since Nov 21, 2021. No significance, just got burnt out.

Felt pretty good, 32ish miles at easy 17.5/18.

Feels like I got kicked in the dick, but that was my first time riding Di2 and I will never ride mech again

The boy ended up taking P3 for age class at the Rev Enduro in Glorieta. First stage had a huge pedal at the midpoint and was 12 minutes long. He got a minute off the front on that stage alone. He climbed back in on stage 2 and made some time up. Then he blew up his wheel on stage 3 which cost him a ton of time to roll down on cushcore. Put a tube in for the final stage of the day and aired it up to 40psi, which also cost him some time.

Anyway, he might have gotten second without the tire issue, but the altitude kicked his arse on that first stage and pushed him too far back to take 1st.

Not worth a thread, but you all have more cycling experience so I figure worth a try - put some tires on, 27x1.4 Michelin. Old Gary Fisher wahoo, but I just ride the road and want less resistance so I went smooth. They're plenty grippy, feel fine. After my first real ride I see this crack, I guess that's what it is. I rode again today, it just got longer. I feel like it's a problem but maybe someone else has experience with it maybe being cosmetic. Hasn't widened at all, just a hairline, but it's longer. I would rather not shred a tire going 40 down a hill.

Looks like a defect to me if they were new tires. I would ask for a new tire from whoever you bought it from.

I ordered off of Amazon, so I don't expect much but I did sent them an email about it. I also emailed Michelin support and expect nothing back.

It wasn't there when I put them on. It appeared or somehow was caused while riding.

I return a ton of stuff to amazon. Are you outside the return window?

Yea if you're not at some crazy pressure that's probably a defective tire.

At that size look into a set of panaracer gravelkings. I've ran slicks and file tread for thousands of miles and love them. Cheap to.

Warranty claim submitted and they are sending me a new one. No crazy pressure, 10 below the max. Seller suggested replacement without any fuss after seeing pic.

So I did the Century ride. Solo and stupid early in the morning.

I couldn’t sleep so decided to get out of bed and go for a ride with out even thinking of riding a 100 miles. Between 40-50 miles I was getting stiff. Stopped for 10 minutes and stretched. Got back on and felt good so I ramped upped from a sleepy cadence and just kept going.

5 hours 54 minutes at an overall avg 17mph. I can do it faster and next time I’ll pack a few more bites.
