I lost 35 lbs last year. I was Keto for about 2 months, but had blood work done and the diet was reducing my renal function - My metabolic panel showed evidence of a kidney injury
I got off keto for 2 weeks, had my blood re-tested and renal function had returned to normal.
Your kidneys work much harder on Keto because you don’t retain water. You needed to drink more of the ketoaid I posted in the OP. Of course your kidney function appeared to be better going back to a SAD because of all the carbs you were eating retaining all that water. Not a physician however.

Good thing because you'd be in prison for malpractice for all the bullshite you claim as fact.
I hope you don't work in any profession where you have a responsibility to the public

Is this keto diet like the cross fit of diets?
Cult like following, claiming that their way is the only way, and every Dieter is an expert on it?

Hi everyone and thanks OWSA and others for the helpful advice (especially for the MFP app suggestion!)
I've been fairly compliant with the correct keto macro ratios and caloric intake since the new year and am down ~9lb and ready to get back to the gym (33yo F by the way).
My question is about IF and workout timing: Right now I'm basically OMAD (2-3 hr window at night). I'd like to go back to alternating days of 6am HIIT and Body Pump classes. Am I potentially missing out on some magical metabolic effects of KETO/OMAD/IF timing by doing this?

Drink more water
I religiously drank a gal of water/day minimum. I would also mix in Himalayan Pink Salt some.

If you aren't taking in anything other than water while doing those workouts you are not messing any benefit of IF up. If anything it probably adds benefit to it.

Personally I workout at 4am and do OMAD eating approximately 4-6pm. I love working out fasted. I honestly can’t workout non-fasted I feel like shite.
Some of the usual naysayers will be along shortly with their butt buddy shill Layne Norton with some cherry picked study showing that fasted exercise does not burn fat faster than non-fasted exercise.
There’s a study to prove whatever you want. Personally I believe that HIIT while fasted is a huge fat burning protocol.

I've been naturally waking up 30-45 minutes before my alarm. I may add in some HIIT on the days I wake up that early.

Fasted walking is great to burn fat. Anything more you start to burn up muscle.

Pretty much
I won't say the people on here don't know what they're talking about cause they bring a lot of good stuff to the table, but it gets a bit outrageous with the claims that it's the only reason things work or don't work

Layne does spout this and might be right as he usually is but he says it in his usual douche bag manner. He has posted the studies but I am a big believer in fasted walking working.

The IF/keto thing has been surprisingly easy to do (except when eating out, which I'm trying to limit anyway) since I've always been more of an OMAD person anyway. The MFP app is so far the biggest thing for me because I had a mental block on figuring out the macro ratios on my own.
Hoping the morning workouts stick because they'll cause zero disruption to my current schedule/time priorities!
