Would the viking workouts not also provide volume?

I was thinking the setup would look similar to the old CFFB stuff. A strength wod then conditioning wod. The 2nd part also providing the volume, but maybe the viking conditioning workouts don't provide this as effectively?

No that's similar. Cffb though mainly focused on short heavy metcons to work the particular energy systems used during a football game.

Gonna be rotating out my press any suggestions on which variant to go to nex? Push press, zpress, etc....not sure if anyone prefers one over another for continuing progress.

Z-press is the first go to, second is push press, third is the dumbbells.

After you go back to normal press and get stuck, reset and use bands.

Doing nothing but home workouts had me pulling out stuff that avg people find kind of crazy. This brings me to the Villian Challenge #1: 100 Burpees in under 5 minutes. I am here to tell you as "simple" as it is... a fire breathing challenge it is.

I am at 5:31 right now and progress is slowing. I am mixing sets and times of work vs. rest to get there.

Bottom line, getting fit is not complicated, but at 48 yr old it's not always easy .

I will get my 100 in under 5 min... then onto the next obstacle.

Anyone still have the villain challenges? They're dead links.

I'm about to go out of town for an indefinite amount of time (could be anywhere from 1-8 weeks) and will have access to a gym. Ive been doing BBR for the last 8 weeks while the gyms were closed and really enjoy it, but I've also been cutting so it's hard to tell how effective it has been especially since I haven't been able to test my strength under a barbell. I was doing Greyskull before the gyms closed and loved it as well, and I'm about to switch into a bulk next week.

Do you think it would be worthwhile switching to greyskull while I have the gym access even though I may be back without a gym in 2 weeks? Or should I just keep blasting away at BBR and maybe just add in the greyskull methods for squats and deadlifts 3 days a week

This. Keep blasting away on bbr. Add in chin and pushup ladders or frequency method sets as much as possible.

So I'm looking at the template for mass and it has alternating incline/decline bench days. Is there a reason that flat bench is totally neglected? I believe we may have discussed this earlier in the thread but I can't find it.

JP thinks incline and decline are much better for overall mass than regular bench.

Today was my first day doing Greyskull LP (you advised me to do it in another thread). Anyhow my squats are terrible. I used light light weight (65lbs) and easily did more than 10 on my AMRAP set, it just felt shaky. I assume I can just progress from 65lbs and they'll get better?
