Fighting golfer's elbow here. Been using light dumbbell doing various curls with it. Noticed a slight improvement so far.

Rest. Heat (don't use ice on elbow).

The rest part ..Is what I don't like. I typically work out 4-5 times a week. Im going increase the heat treatments.

I’ve been dealing with this for years in both elbows. It comes and goes. Just recently got an injection in one elbow just for the other to flare up. It takes rest. Took mine 2 weeks to heal up completely. It’ll be flared up again in about 3 months tho

You have to stay away from the exercises that aggravate it. If pushing doesn't hurt then just do that for a while.

I developed it a couple years back and this fixed it. Rippetoe on Tennis/Golfer's Elbow
No resting, icing, or heating plus my pullups improved.

Yep. Gonna try to stay as active as I can but work around this as much as possible and let it rest some.

I had surgery done last year on the outside of my elbow after a year of rest, shots, etc... Best thing I ever did. They went in and lengthened the tendon. Hopefully you can avoid surgery.

Tumeric daily and purchase a flexbar for daily exercises. Create blood flow to the area with out stressing the joints. If really inflamed , rest and advil for a few days then start doing the daily exercises. Mine has improved dramatically since I started this routine

I find that rest is the only thing that helps it. Working through it just makes it worse for me. I've gotten in the habit of using my left hand for almost everything.

Damn, this is interesting. I'm going to try it. Pull movements aren't what hurts my arm so it won't be a problem. It's pushing with a closed fist that's hurting.

Yea, I'm gonna limit what I do. I don't seem to have any issues , say doing pullup underhanded (supinated) but switch that and its a no go.

I had this happen to me doing front shoulder raises and it pissed me off because I’m in the gym 4-5 times a week. I got many opinions from several doctors and their common theme is what worked, rest it. I never stopped going to the gym but I had to completely stay away from that elbow for a few weeks. When I went back to exercises that incorporated it, I had to go very, very light weight. Sissy weight even.. like front shoulder raises with 5-8 lb dumbells.
“If it hurts, stop and go down in weight.”
That was my theme and it took about 3-4 months for it to fully go away. A year or so later, zero issues and can go as heavy as I want.

I pretty much avoided doing anything that hurt. Hell, I think I went 2 or 3 months without bench pressing. It's finally almost 100%. Benched today with no pain.

Rest is the big thing like everyone else said.
I would also recommend a Counterforce Brace.
The idea behind it is to change the point of contact from the extensor mass and the bone. By putting this brace just a little down your arm from where the pain is, it will allow the painful spot to cool off.

Avoiding painful exercises and wearing one of those tennis elbow braces is what worked for me. Doing overhead tricep extensions is what got it inflamed

Thanks. I concur. I may have hurt mine doing lateral raises but not sure. Regardless I avoid stuff that pains me and have significantly reduced weight.

Jose is spot on. I had tendonitis a few years back and, as silly as this thing looked on my arm, it made a world of difference.
If you don't believe me, wrap your other hand around your arm where the band would be and see what a difference it makes.
