it looks bad, but it is only 3 minutes for each round with a 3 min rest
it will hurt, but its manageable

24 box jumps overs, then the calorie row would have me barely making it to the bar in the first amrap

yeah I doubt many make it to the bar on the first round

5x5 back squat with 2 weighted pull ups and 2 minute rest between each set of squats + pull ups
I did 185 on squats and heavy ring rows instead of pull ups. I wanted to make sure I was getting deep into my squats so I kept the weight a bit lighter than I initially wanted to, and it was the right call. The last set was HARD but I managed to keep up my depth and form through the whole workout.

I did 275 and should have been around 295.
Haven’t been squatting regularly and kept it lower.

Are we going to have an official open thread? If they put 50lb dumbbell thrusters I’ll puke.

I'm planning on attacking the burpees today. I need embrace the shittiness and work on the snaking technique I saw someone post.

yes I know burpees suck but please don't snake your burpees. work to get better with good technique. it pays off in the long run. everyday wods are training and shouldn't be treated like competitions

okay, weigh 270 pounds and get back to me about burpees I can't do enough pushups to even do strict burpees in a WOD.

i was 265 when I started crossfit in 2013 so ive been there. my bodyweight fluctuates between 245-260 depending on what ive focused on but with a different composition then when I first started lol
a baby snake doesn't hurt at first but keep putting in the work and you wont regret it...

For sure. I want to use the snaking to progress, not as a long-term solution. Right now I can't do many burpees before having to step up, and eventually I wind up even going to my knees before stepping up. It's also possible that since there's only 6 burpees per round in the WOD today that the coaches will want strict burpees and I'll be SOL

I’ve been reading through this thread and I really want to find the motivation to get back into CrossFit. I did it for about 3-4 years and never missed a workout. I was in the best shape of my life, much better than during high school sports or college.
I just got burned out and lost the drive at the end. I’ve taken about 2 years off since quitting and worked out here and there since but nothing like before. Still in good shape but I miss the feeling of when I could just leave the house and run a 5k or Kayack 20-30 miles on a whim with no notice at all.
Just don’t have the drive I once had when I first started it. It was something I always looked forward to but now dred it. Any other of y’all ever expirience this?

Can you explain why snaking would be considered bad technique?

burpees
its not as efficient and doesn't help you build strength in training. now if its a competition and standards allow it then by all means knock em out...im strictly talking about in an every day wod where your focus is to get better

I can see the strength gain part but I feel it certainly helps when you run out of gas. I’m a bigger athleye too and can only do so many, snaking helps & I do find it more efficient when I’m tired. I actually learned the technique at an L1 seminar so I know not everyone is anti-snaking
