I have only used Anytime Fitness.
Some are great. Some are shite. The one that is my home gym buys new equipment all the time and no machines are ever broken. They get new treadmills every few years so people dont have to used worn down stuff.

No meatheads. No thots. Everyone is there to lift or exercise. No old people gathering around the water fountain blocking the machines.

Planet fitness is for beginners and teenagers. They have no free weight barbell and the dumbbells only go to 75.

I’ve used snap and anytime when working out of town, they aren’t amazing, but they have most everything you need.

Anytime and snap are interchangeable but rely on the individual gym whether it's good. I've seen terrible snaps but was part of one that was really good.

Planet fitness is for women and men that don't care about looking good or people that have no where else to go.

i use PF because my motivation to do cardio without an audience is non existent, and my company gives me %50 off so i pay 10 a month for cardio and free tanning( which i havent used, but might in the future). I do my lifting at home.

Anytime and Snap are for people that enjoy overpaying for products instead of paying $10 a month for a gym that has everything you need to get fit. these same people are broke and cannot figure out why.

There are no $10/month gyms nearby?

Also, the universality of having access to any Snap/Anytime fitness club wherever is nice.

Are you actually defending PF?

Planet Fitness offers the best variety of smith machines and free weights. I think it’s grand, but it’s no Foxy’s.

Not sure if trolling or just stupid.

How does it offer the best variety of Smith and free weights? You literally are stuck to zero Oly lifts because of the unbelievable amount of Smith machines.

That is what I'm saying, the snap I went to had a great amount of free weights. It was better than the anytime around here.

Planet Fitness is trash. There's a reason half the people that walk in there are fat.

Or for people that actually lift weights instead of whatever the hell you do on a Smith machine. Planet Fitness sucks, unless you’re just joining for cardio. They have a shite load of cardio equipment and free pizza/bagels/tootsie rolls.

i have a planet fitness membership just to go at lunch to have a place near by since I lift at home. Its fine if you are weak and can start light. Also if you know how to use the smith machine properly you can do ok.

Personally if you want to lift heavy, PF isnt for you. I do that at home. But I could create a routine that involves lots of Bodyweight moveements, some smith movements, leg press, and BD movements and get a great workout. But eventually you will prolly have to start using rest pause or some other type of intensity techniques because the weights are light.

I had a PF membership for a couple of years. Honestly PF gets more shite than it really deserves. You can go there and get a decent workout. The "no judgement" philosophy is great for getting overweight people to go. It can be looked at as a great place for people beginning to change their lives. Sure, the pizza and donuts days are ridiculous, but I never at a single donut or slice of pizza while I was a member.

No, it's not really great for advanced lifters. But your average person, even amateur body builders, can go there and get a good workout in. That said, if you want complex barbell movements, it is not a place for you. Deadlifts, squats, bench, and Oly movements are all off the table unless you want to do them on smith machines (which is not recommended by most experts)

I had a membership to Snap Fitness for several years, and like everyone else said.. it varies from location to location. My favorite one is the old on on Lee Dr. in BTR.. has a little crossfit room with bumper plates, rings, bars, battle ropes, tires, etc. Only issue with that one for me was how far it is from my house and how crowded it got at times.

I’ve done all 3 and anytime is my personal preference and where I’m a current member. I’m traveling constantly and they’ve got gyms everywhere so it’s great for me, but if you’re someone that usually works out at one particular gym I’d check it out because they’ve got a few that are pretty small/limited.

I go to PF from time to time. I live down the street from one and I have a permanent guest pass. Its a decent gym but if you're looking to lift heavy, it's better to find something else.

I used planet fitness to prove to myself that I could go to the gym consistently enough to pay for a real gym.
