I was really surprised that my teriyaki sauce made by great value is pretty clean. It’s just a bunch of fruit juices and cane sugar!

Maybe it's just me, you rarely add anything to threads. You seem to just be on TD all day with nothing else to do but sound like a prick to people in threads.

Man is this ever true. Soybean oil accounts for like 8% of all American calories now. That's up from less than 1% 50 years ago. The shite is eating people's bodies from the inside out.

The entire latter 1/3 of The Big Fat Surprise is dedicated to this topic. It talks about how restaurant kitchens can no longer actually clean surfaces because the shite is so...sticky. Also, some stories of basically spontaneous combustion of workers' uniforms coated in the shite.

When you look at the stuff it looks like Motor Oil. And it is 8% of what we put in our bodies. WEll Soybean Oil is 8%. Then add Canola, Peanut, Corn, Grapeseed Oils, etc.

AHA will not change from cholesterol and fats being the cause of heart disease. When it is really Seed Oils, Carbs, Sugar and lack of resistance training.

Chosen foods avocado oil. I read an article that researched all major avocado oil brands and something like 80% of them was not pure avocado oil due to there not being any regulation or oversight in the avo oil production process. Chosen foods tested 100% pure

I'm going to try to find that study and link it later

lard find a local butcher shop that will sell you some by the lb and render it yourself its super cheap that way
What do they charge you per pound and what rendering process do you use? Crock pot? That's how I've done my tallow in the past which seems to work fine

I doubt the occasional seed oil is really going to hurt you
The problem is seed oil is in nearly everything you eat that is from a box, and bag, or prepared at a place that isn't your home. So eliminating seed oils from your home is only step 1 - you are still consuming a lot if you eat anything in a bag or anything prepared at a grocery or restaurant

I just went and looked at all the sauces in my fridge and trashed all of them bc they all started with soybean oil. I was highly disappointed to learn Chik Fil A sauce has it.
One positive surprise is how many "clean" tomato sauces there are. There's a pretty good selection of low-ingredient, non-frankenfood sauces.

I get it from Costco by the gallon (or is it half gallon?). Thanks, Costco!

Their Kirkland brand EVOO is legit, too.

What is the consensus on peanut oil. That is typically what we use for frying deer steak or fish.I always thought it was best of vegetable oils.I could be wrong, but I haven’t really read anything bad about it.
Actually don’t fry often, maybe once every couple months.
I was disappointed to recently read that most olive oil is not really olive oil. That’s what wife uses to sauté vegetables.

Well it looks like at least 17 people agree with me

Maybe take some responsibility and be more clear in your posts.

I believe Canola is the least bad readily available oil.

Sunflower oil seems to have a high smoke point. How is it?

That can't be right (unless you're saying olive oil isn't "readily available"?).

I meant of the bad readily available oils canola is the best. No comparison. He asked about frying fish. I would imagine doing a fish fry with olive oil so I was saying if the oils you’d do a big fish fry it seems like canola is the best.

Olive oil is way better for you than canola. Seems like a lot of Olive Oil may not be pure though.

For reference best doesn’t mean good.
