Recommendations for dealing with pain caused by a sciatic nerve?

About two years ago, I was working in a sand plant to fill tanker trucks for the oil field and went to lift a 55 gallon drum full of sand and rocks with a coworker. He didnt lift on three, like I did, I heard and felt a 'pop' in my lower back.
Ever since that day, I've had extreme pain in my left leg. It occurs practically every time I'm on my feet more than 5-10 minutes. I'm only 30 and was in decent health/shape before this. I've tried everything from a chiropractor to buying an inversion table, to hang upside down on. Nothing has offered real relief.
Anyone dealt with something similar and found successful ways of dealing with the pain?
Any insight or advice is appreciated.

That doesn’t sound like a sciatica issue.

Cortisone injections do wonders for me. I am having one done tomorrow.

That sounds like it could be a disk issue. I’d get it checked out to get an appropriate diagnosis.

Every few months a cortisone injection and yoga for lower back pain like tons of ham string stretches from your calf to lower back. (I have like four videos I like on you tube "yoga with andriene sciatica pain" "yoga with andriene lower back pain" yoga with andriene hamstring stretches" and I just do those before bed and when I wake up.
Im in same boat happened around same time while I was warming up with light weight snatches and someone walked behind me on right side so bar was out in front of me and I could not bring it straight above me & blew out my back. Totally changed my body and I am no longer able to do what I used to.

My dad got the radiofrequency ablation. The nerves usually grow back after a year or two but it's been nearly four years and no further issues.

Sounds like you should have reported that and had a valid WC claim

Absolutely get an mri first. Once you get a diagnosis on that it could be as simple as some chiro visits or if it's a busted disc you may need surgery. Don't let anyone touch you without an mri. Can cause more damage..

That’s not sciatic nerve. Go see specialist. You are long overdue for an mri.
