Hey I never said I didn't prefer keto or that it isn't great, just that it isn't the only way.
I mean, but frick, who couldn't eat steak and eggs all day. That shite is delicious

I mentioned somewhere (maybe earlier in this thread) that i totally ran out of steam on the last 2-3 miles of that trail half mar in Aspen in Sept. The altitude and relative lack of training didn't help, but it definitely taught me that my regular old high fat low carb way of eating, without mods isn't going to cut it.
The balance can be effectively 0. Given enough time fat adapted. If you already know that the requirement for carbohydrate in the human body is 0, then why would the human body even need any at all for any sort of effort?

The original VG steak and eggs diet was a salad for lunch with olive oil, no meat.
Dinner was 8 eggs and 16-20 oz steak and later if hungry 4-6oz of raw hamburger. He later changed it to 12oz steak, 4 eggs and a little butter for lunch and dinner. And eat the salad with dinner some nights if you wanted then hamburger if hungry.
I am doing the calories and macros from the get shredded diet by John bernardi which is 10xbw in calories, 60% fat, 35% protein and 5% carbs.
Mi will start at 12xbw for now and lower as I stall.
For me
2pm Lunch-large salad with 1tspb of evoo, red wine vinegar, 100g avocado, kale and baby spinach, couple slices of red onion and for now some grass fed cheese. I will cut the cheese out after 6 weeks.
6pm dinner- 12 oz steak, 6 eggs
10pm post workout meal- same
Going to do this for 12 weeks at least. Wife wanted to go keto and I will do anything to help her succeed since she struggles, so I said frick it, if I got to do it might as well go full bore. I am going to not do any carb ups for at least 3-4 weeks, the will transition into a weekly carb meal on Friday following VGs advice which is that carbs and protein should never be eaten together.
Planned on starting a log today but got rear ended this afternoon and screwed up those plans. I am running the greyskull ripped to shreds program along with it.
Btw junky you should read some of his pamplets and books I have on my drive, he was way out there on some things but also way way ahead of his time. He used to say "why would you waste time eating carbohydrates, they are an inferior protein and food source!". Pretty crazy to hear an Italian talk like that. You would like him, he is one of the guys I search every where on the net for little nuggets.
One time when Arnold walked in his gym for the first time, Arnold said "I'm Arnold schwarzenegger and I'm going to be working champion one day!" Vince replied, "you look like just another fat frick to me" then kicked Arnold out.

I've always heard of Vince and probably read some of his but can't remember it off the top of my head. I was looking to read this afternoon - I guess I have my topic.
I've not heard of Rheo Blair. Dives into google
