I am pretty active, although currently not getting nearly the same amount of steps I get when I'm at home. (I find it hard to get out and walk in a congested city environment vs my 50 acres in Oklahoma), but I just have too much of a record of me tracking accurately, weighing consistently and losing weight while in the 2700-2900 range.

The main reason I say that deficit is way too big is how quickly I got there. Month ago the app had me at 2790 cals a day, and I let it drop me too fast and too low and if I try to hit the macrofactor targets I'll get too hungry and just overeat. I should switch it to maintenance now so it's not distracting. 1900 cals a day is too low and I can't do that currently. I need to gradually approach that, or I'll fail hard.

I should have declined the program changes and just switched to maintenance 2 weeks ago, I got cocky after the first few weeks here in Vietnam because I was doing great progress dropping fat and thought that would continue....it did not.

Understood. Hopefully it works for you But personally, if I’m eating 27-2900 calories, I’m not gonna lose a damn oz, I’ll likely gain. My BMR is 1900 and my estimate TDEE is 26-2900. I like to stick closer to the BMR side of things. But everyone’s different. I can tell right now that these last 10# are going to be a mother fricker to lose.

Not that I've ever been there myself, but it sounds like the law of diminishing returns definitely applies to fat loss, the closer you get to those lower levels of BF% the more effort it takes and the less fat you lose. It's like wringing moisture out of a cloth. The main reason I have no goals of getting really lean is because of this. I just don't see why I'd put myself through all the trouble. But I respect those that take on the challenge of getting really lean and can succeed(either partially or completely)

According to the fancy schmancy metabolic testing I did a few weeks ago, my BMR is 2420, TDEE = 2904, and that seems to correlate well with what I'm seeing. I just have to make food logging and consistent weighing and body measurements a habit because I am not the kind of person that can be trusted to "eyeball" anything or "go with my gut" about portion sizes, food choices, etc. I need a leash on myself and weighing foods out, logging and tracking everything is how I have to do this.

Speaking of that, I got so excited about cooking breakfast this morning and making coffee that I forgot to weigh myself before I ate/drank. That's okay, I already have 2 weights logged this week. I consider 3 body weight measurements/week to be the minimum acceptable. 100% of my food has been logged and I'm getting better at logging it immediately instead of doing it from memory...even as little as 30 minutes later. It's too easy to casually forget something and that shite adds up.

really fricking annoyed. my knee is getting worse. going to stop all training of it other than knees of toes protocols starting sunday.

essentially

tib raises/kot calf raises
backwards sled drags
glute ham raises
patrick step ups
kot split squat

also ramping up the bpc protocol and going to go ahead and get some tb500 to go with it

if not fixed in about 8 weeks or significant progress...going to get mri

Damn that sucks. Hopefully resting it and BPC/TB will do some good.

resting wont do shite. been fighting this since last summer when i hurt it tubing down at indoor snow place in Pigeon Forge but has gotten worse.

going full rehab, laid out my plan already and got that figured out. i had been trying to do it through low bar squats last 6 weeks and its not helping and im becoming increasingly frustrated as pain has gotten worse over last 6 months and its starting to hurt outside of lifting which pisses me off.

so i have to do something

I was about to ask you if this was that same knee injury from last year. That sucks. If you could swing it, I'd go get the MRI as soon as possible, it's been long enough. I'm also not one to be eager to rest. I think walking and sled work sounds like a good idea.

I hate getting injured but I hate it even more when it’s because of something stupid.

I’ve been dealing with foot cellulitis and terrible blisters/drug reaction for 3 weeks now after a damn mosquito bite. Only been able to do legs once in a month. Have barely been walking. Now that’s stupid. So frustrating.

frick yea same one...just been slowly getting worse. no swelling

i would like to punch that fricker that spun me on the tube in the face. asshhole has me spinning like crazy and when it hit i knew but was hoping it was strong enough around it and i was mobile enough for it to be ok...and it was for a long time

i have a good friend that is going to call me out an mri this week and if it is clean(which I hope) we will just give it a shot and see if it can elevate the pain.

I think it might be some form of tendonitis but its different than when I have had it before. I used to get it from burpees.

hitting off the machine yesterday with my kids...yea was hurting and i was late on everything and I had to hear them give me shite and falling on the ground laughing...pissed me off so for sure got to get it fixed

they kept asking...what is wrong with you today and thought it was so funny. Im like dude we are simulating 88mph....shite is hard but they didnt believe me. little frickers are a terror on the old man and love to give me shite.

Kids are ruthless man. Unless you're really on your arse like flu or bad covid or a serious injury, they give zero shits lol. Pulled muscle in your back? They still jump all over you and want to wrestle. Twisted an ankle? better overplay your hand and put a brace so they dont expect you to run on it

yea they are...but i have three great sons who thank me every day for everything I do and tell me thank you everytime i take them to do something, every time i stop what im doing to go lift with them or go throw the ball with them, or hit with them etc.

which is good because im pretty demanding with grades and even with sports and other activities...i pretty much tell them...if you are going to do it...do it right, strive to be the best and never ever let someone out work you

so i can take a little shite talking from them but yea they are ruthless as a MFer

Garmin shows right at 4 pounds loss for the month was gonna stop at 215 but I think 210 will be about right based on how much fat I’m still holding.

Not saying it’s the same thing but I hurt my knee on a ski trip to the point I could barely walk or bend it. Didn’t go to the doctor and just sucked it up and somewhat lived with the pain and limited mobility from the pain. Started doing HIT last year and some of the exercises (lateral lunge, curtsy lunge, pistol)hurt so bad I couldn’t complete them and was debating going to the DR. I kept pushing through and now I have zero pain full range of motion.
When in rehab they push you to tears and that’s what I needed was rehabilitation.

That makes 15 pounds since I started semaglutide

I'm still sticking with 2.5mg tirz every 5 days. I have to be able to deal with some hunger, and the scale is still moving, so I see no reason to up the dose yet.

Nice work.

I’m holding steady at 214-216. I can really start to see some definition in my back and arms now so I know I’m adding lean mass. I need to find a dexa scan to get an accurate measurement of where I stand. The scale is just a mind frick at this point.

Anyone know how to locate a dexa scan around Lafayette?

I'm starting it next week, any words of advice to get me started?

Follow the protocol closely to avoid negative sides

Stay on each dose as long as possible

Keep calories below your BMR while prioritizing protein

Drink a gallon of water a day to prevent constipation

8-10k steps a day

And start resistance training if you haven’t. That was my biggest regret so I’ve been playing catch up.

The rest will fall into place
