Weight has been pretty stagnant the last few weeks. Bounced back and forth between 227.6 and 228.6. Decided to not weigh myself for a few days and just see what the scale said on day 1 of squatober.

280/225.8/190

I was pleasantly surprised this morning. As of today, I am back to my pre-summer low (which also happens to be the lowest in probably 10+ years).

No change for me in a while, but I haven't been getting much exercise outside of lifting 4 days. With the cooler weather, starting to get my 3 miles in at lunch during the week again.

New low weight!

For the past couple weeks I've been trying to let my body tell me when to eat instead of watching a clock to decide when to eat. I've noticed (other than a cup or 2 of coffee) I typically don't eat anything until lunch time (11-2) and then I'll eat a relatively small dinner around 6. This has helped me a good bit in reducing calories. Also my lunch has been protein focused. Typically baked chicken breast and spaghetti squash or something similar. Then dinner is whatever the family wants that night (90% home cooked; not take-out). I know I'm not getting the 200g protein/day recommendation, but I'm fine with that right now. Weight is going down, but strength feels good and not decreasing.

So you eat twice a day and don’t get 1g/lb of protein? Do you “snack” a lot? your plan isn’t ideal for body composition

I'm aware its not ideal and addressed that in my post. Right now, I'm concerned about dropping weight. When I get closer to where I want to be (which is no where near 225), then I'll focus more on specific macros.

Occasionally I'll grab a snack if I have an early lunch. Its not something routine so I didn't mention it. When I do it's a high protein yogurt or some meat (typically chicken or turkey).

No offense that’s fricking stupid, who cares about weight, you should care about body composition.

Wtf good does it do to get to goal weight and 40% of weight loss came from muscle?

Ideal is not ideal for everyone. Let the man cook bro. If he gets burned out on what's working, he will come here and get advice.

I'm sure he could get more protein but if he's getting the results he wants, he will keep going. If you start messing with his diet and not losing any pounds, could make him quit even though composition is getting better.

And 40% ain't from muscle, stop scaring him

Your right, thanks for being the level headed on today lol

I just get frustrated with people thinking they need to hit some magic scale number before they start lifting weights.

I know it's not optimal; I expected the criticism when I posted it. I appreciate the concern. Quick calculation shows I'm sticking around .7g/lb per day (30g shy of 1g/lb of target weight) so it's not like I'm ignoring protein. I make it the focus of my meals and with the exception of family dinner, avoid carbs like pasta and bread.

While I'm enjoying getting stronger (I lift 5-7 days a week), I'm enjoying the added stamina and flexibility from dropping weight/size even more. My main goal is to be able to stay active with my kids and not be tired or worn out. My clothes fitting better is another added benefit of dropping weight. I've gone down 4-5 pants sizes and 1-2 shirt sizes.

Not fast results, but that's okay. 212 is the lowest I've been in probably 15 years.

Trying to be in a deficit while doing Squatober but it’s a bitch. I’m always hungry. Was doing well for a few days and then I just have to eat depending on the workout/mental fatigue.

8/8 I started dieting and exercising. 6 weeks in and 16 pounds down!
262/246/230

Started a turnaround last week making a little harder, but keeping disciplined and getting in at least 5 days of walking and 3-4 days of weights

9/22 weigh in was 245. 17 pounds down since 8/8

10/2 weight was 241, for 21 pounds down. Pretty proud of that considering I've been working a turnaround since the early September.
10/12 weight was 244. Working 70-80hrs a week I'm struggling to make my gym & exercise time right now

When work or life gets crazy, just do your best to maintain and not lose all control. It's a marathon not a sprint.
