6 weeks after hitting goal weight, calories are now up 5-600 per day to maintenance, still 1g/lb of protein (that's been past ~3 months)

Weight is stable, now working on the training portion of it all

This board is great, I'm hooked

The scale stalled for a few weeks hovering around 215/214. I realized it was body recomp. Inches went down but number didn’t. I’m feeling good and looking better. 13lbs to 200 and I’m starting to think 190/195 will be the new number. Late march is my goal. That’s my 40th bday. I want to weigh what I did in high school.

I can see 190 being different than 200 but don’t you feel 195 and 200 is pretty much the same?

I come with humility that I have been a fat piece since I fell off the weight loss wagon two months ago. A couple of vacations and work stress later, I'm up 7 pounds. I haven't really lost my strength gains, so at least I have that. Getting back to 1.8k calories a day and checking with my insurance on getting a nutritionist as well.

Congrats man! I had a similar experience last weekend at the LSU game. I had a few people asking if I had cancer or was sick.

Ive fallen off the wagon lately with food. I had pizza and beer last night. I woke up bloated and feeling like dogshit, convinced I weighed over 220. It was 215.0 Time to tighten up and get under 210

thanks yall!

at the cancer comment. maybe it's time to put on some lean mass over winter? At the Bama game last year, waiting in concessions a guy told me I need to get out on the field ha

I plan to reverse diet out of this and get back to the high protein, high carb diet to put on some size for next year. Looking forward to some healthy french toast, pancakes and walden farms syrups.

Probably do another cut around March of next year

Oh, I am a gorilla of a human. I had cancer 9 years ago, so the concern was slightly valid.

I do need to increase weight training for strength. Just pushups and walking have helped the golf game a lot. There's nothing like gaining distance when pushing 40.

The best comment I got was from a student last week. He asked if I was a basketball player back in my day which I was. For years, everyone assumed I was a football player Im getting that basketball player shape back.

making a return visit to the thread where I disappear out of shame

40 years old these days and I'm actively working out again in the basement. I'm 3 months in to starting Greyskull from scratch (empty bar on everything but deadlifts) and have just been progressing up so as not to hurt myself. Been trying my best to get in 8-10k steps a day with a 30-45 minute walk 4-5 times a day.

I've always had issues with binge eating that seems to derail my efforts of things and I think I've got some of that under control and I'm hopeful for the future of this journey. Glad to see this thread still going strong!

My doc started me on some medication that seems to have completely wiped out my cravings, and especially cravings for sugar, and thus my binges. I've been taking it for about 3 weeks now and haven't had any issues since. I've gone from drinking 3-4 2L of diet mountain dew a week to not even getting through 1 of them in a week. Things that I'd normally snack on (peanuts for instance) that would last 4-5 days have lasted 3 weeks. I've never in my life experienced food where I can actually eat a little bit of it, enjoy it and let that be it. It's very strange (in a great way).

*ETA* That obviously wasn't the main reason for the medication, it was simply one of two that he wanted me to try out to see if it could help me out with my weight loss as I'd gone about 2 months of working out + walking etc with extremely limited results, but seems to just be kind of a side effect.

I drink a shitload of diet soda and get really lean on it. Your issue may have more to so with sugary foods—you drink juices and things like that? I would cut that out completely. Fruits - save them for preworkout / post workout or some blueberries after morning cardio

Also—protein itholate from raw nutrition or you can do casein since it’s night time. I make that shake at night with ice and powdered peanut butter. It completely kills any cravings for sweets and other junk

I've lost plenty of weight before drinking diet soda, I was just using it as an example of how I just simply don't crave the things I did before. I've replaced that with nothing but water for the most part now. I have zero doubt that sugary foods were an issue, that's why I'm so excited not to be craving them for once in my life

yea lane has posted tons of studies where people lost just as much weight on diet soda as just drinking water.

diet soda is fine and great when on a diet to kill cravings

i prefer white monsters as the diet sodas bloat the hell out of me feeling wise. i dont actually bloat from a holding water weight perspective but 100% feel bloated. Great for killing a sweet tooth though for sure
