My start day was Nov 1, 2021. Calorie counting and meticulous food logging. Wish I had a body comp from when I started, but unfortunately don't. Had one today (InBody scan) and in last 4 weeks went from 14.3 to 12.2% body fat, -3lbs in that time period and +0.5 lbs skeletal muscle mass. No keto or other named diet - just staying at a calorie deficit, eating good solid food and making sure at least 150 gm protein a day.
On the fence about a workout plan. I get my cardio fitness walking my dog every morning and making at least 100 flights of stairs in my building at work. Tennis once or twice a week and 5-6 days in the gym. I'm a novice and wish I had started one of the plans I see floating around here, but what I'm doing seems to be working, so I guess I keep going until I hit a wall. I feel like I'm doing the right lifts - workouts centered around bench, trap bar DL and squats - but need to shore up the sets and reps plan. I have chest/shoulders days and a legs/arms days and work abs every time I'm in the gym.

I played 36 holes yesterday. I had a burger and fries for dinner. I was so damn hungry and at a parade. I ate what was out in front of me I’m guessing walking 9 miles helped me not bloat this morning. I feel fine.
All good, got up and had my fasted walk and some yoga.
Ready for another week at it. The next 15 lbs really change my body shape. I’m ready. Hammer down

Posting weekly averages instead of daily weights.
Week 2 results: 207.7/205.3/190
Honestly doing a shite job on the weekends, but apparently keeping average daily intake low enough to lose a few pounds.

so not a great weekend, but not a bad one either. Spent all weekend at the ball fields and didnt eat the best, but kept it reasonable and moved a shite ton.
back on the egg fast this week again, trying to get down to the 195. goal is to be 185 by end of lent.

How tall are you? Im wondering what my true goal weight should be. my plan is to evaluate the situation when I hit 220.
Posted on 2/21/22 at 10:06 am to CoachChappy
im 5'9.
honestly shoot for a goal BF% that you want to hold year around.
for most that should be a true 15%. So you will want to get about 2-3% below that and then slowly reversing out allowing yourself to find true maintenance and the BF% to creep slowly up.

Ok, When I hit 230, I'm going get an In body scan. that should give me a good picture, correct?
My scale "calculates" body fat, but I know it can't be correct.

Inbody scan today- 1st scan was 1/13
Bodyweight= 222.2 today. It was 222.2 on the first scan lol.
Muscle mass 102.5 to 106.5
Body fat mass 45.6 to 40.8
Body fat %. 20.6 to 18.4
I need to take measures. All my numbers are trending in the right direction except if like to see the weight come down. About to start LCI on March 8th and see what happens

You should be thrilled about this, and not as concerned with the weight on the scale. It will come with time and consistency. Great job!

Had a couple of tough weeks. My pharmacy didn't fill my thyroid meds (which happened to run out) nor the Ozempic for two frickin weeks. My hunger was insatiable and I felt like shite.
I started using Carbon diet app last week. Tried to just let myself be hungry and not drastically overeat. Hard to do, though, when it's like a hungry lion is living in your stomach.
I got all my meds back straight, feeling better, hunger is manageable again. Still using the Carbon app.
I have no idea what I weigh. I can feel bloated as shite one day and scale had me at 275, the next day I'll feel better and 271. It'll probably take another week before my thyroid is under control again.
Hate that I'm not meeting my weight loss goal again. I've been down this road too many times.

I would love to see my bodyweight stay the same while losing bodyfat and gaining muscle mass for my next scan on 3/9.
Going to attempt to make my own fat bombs today in the kitchen. Wife and I love the offerings from Slim Fast but at $10/box they're costly since our kids love to raid them as well.

I'm in maintenance mode this week. My sciatic nerve on my right side is killing me. I had PT Tuesday and again today. I'm eating clean and walking a lot. I can walk and play golf. It's tough to tee up the ball, but I can play if I warm up a lot. Running and pushups/core work hurts like hell. Im hoping by the end of next week everything clears out, and I can get back after it.

Was able to start lifting this week and I use that term loosely. Weak AF after a year of no lifting and 6 weeks of not using my left arm at all. Humbling to start over at the bottom but I got 3 good 45 minute lifts in this week and kept diet on point. Almost at goal weight then focus is body comp and adding lean muscle slowly over time

Weekly averages for me…
Week 2 results: 207.7/205.3/190
Week 3 results: 207.7/205.8/190
Haven’t been doing a good job tracking calories, but I think the weekly average got spiked by eating crawfish one day. Too much salt.
