Has anyone ran Brickhouse or Brickhouse Remastered?

I ran the original 3 years back and really enjoyed training full-body. I’m about to start a new plan and debating between Brickhouse (probably the remastered version) or Pump City.

I’ve ran brickhouse remastered. It’s excellent. My deadlift skyrocketed on it.

It would be a good candidate for a program party once everyone finishes their breaks from the barbell or higher rep versions of PPSA.

Thanks, and that’s great to hear about your deadlift too!

I decided on Brickhouse Remastered and just completed workout 1. Lots of bench volume which is great.
I substituted chins for lat pulldowns (4 sets of 8) because I was training with my partner and she hates chins lol.

Brickhouse looks pretty tough. I’ve been trying to lose fat forever it seems like and wanna run something like Brickhouse or Strongville at maintenance calories or above and see whether it’s more fun :)

I’ve ran jacked up joker. Prepare for lots of 10x10 work.

That's what attracted me to it. Its basically high volume super sets. I was between Joker and Oak Tree.

Meeting up with one of the guys from the gym today. He's going to help spot so I can get an accurate 1RM before I start the plan.

I guessed my 1RM for grasshopper and set my training max at 180 for bench and 210 for squat.

Edit: Tested bench and squat today. Worked up to 2 reps at 205 on bench and 1 rep at 255 for squat (completed 3 reps at 245 prior to the 255 attempt). Going to use 185 and 230 as my training maxes.

How are you liking superset? Just finished week 1 and these workouts are taking me like 80+ minutes and kicking my arse

I like it. I can tell my lifts have improved over the big 3, with bench the best. I always skip the warmup so they take me 70 to 80 minutes. Strongville routinely took me 90 min and io

I’m going to start Dumbbell Strength on Monday. I re-injured my shoulder yesterday going way too heavy on bench press. Guess I pissed off my already torn labrum. So dumbbells it is

Do y’all have heavy dbs? I’ve been running the sample db strength days when I am stuck in a gym with dbs only, and it’s okay with rep modifications if they gym has 50s, but if it stops at 25s like a lot do then you’re stuck doing giant sets and much higher reps to get more of a cardio style workout.

So far the most I’ve used is 70s but I think my gym goes to about 120. I never really noticed.

I do them, with some additions I’ve picked up from his programs: always do band pull apart, lat raises and face pulls before a push day, always do kb swings before legs.

Only thing I don’t follow is face down planks; I just do regular planks instead.

Now I do sub in cable/machine exercises in the programs some, I tend to do more chest supported db rows and meadows rows instead of as much bb bent over rows, and I always replace tate presses if he programs them.

W4d1 superset down, and then about 90 minutes of scraping ice off my driveway

That's a pain by the way averaged like 120bpm

Anyone start DB today. I haven’t done week 4 yet but I’m gonna go back to week 1 and start back with anyone giving it a go. I remember my legs felt the first few days.

I slept in this morning. I'm starting it this afternoon. These look like some long workouts. Reminds of Strongville.
